  1. My bad, I was thinking of my old s2000 mechanism
  2. I don't think you should be able to move it when the handbrake is on, the caliper should be forced to grip the disc and it should be solid. If it's not, I say the caliper is sticking.
  3. Nice one Matt, I love that feeling you get when something like this comes together.
  4. Niiiiice!!. Liking that mate, nice one.
  5. Unfortunatley not mate, my Supra is off the road for the forseeable . I live in Sidcup so you'll be driving past me to get to and from Japfest. If you want to pop in on the way back you can.
  6. Welcome to the club matey, you shouldn't rule out the TT. A stock TT is by no means a handful, especially in that you've come from a tt Rex. You'll get used to stock power levels very quickly, and then the time will come when you want more. Then, like many of us you can jump to BPU power levels, for very little money considering what your getting. With an NA, you're stuck with considerably more expensive options if you want to up the power. Just so you know as well, the TT and NA are virtually the same to insure
  7. Why has a UK spec supra been sitting around for 2 years?!?!
  8. I believe most good garages will have spark plug removers specifically designed to remove snapped plugs. It may be worth phoning round to see if there is one local to you, then get it recovered to them.
  9. Having seen many similar threads in the past, there are loads of opinions on here that contradict each other. I'm sure some of our more knowledgable members will be along soon to offer their own views. However, if I was presented with a turbo issue on my car, there is no way I could afford to pay out for a decent single setup (it can be done on the cheap, but it's not worth it, it's a prime example of buy nice or buy twice). I would be straight on the phone to Mr Whiffen, he offers a selection of hybrid turbos for different budgets all of which have the backing of experience which only people like him can provide.
  10. Is the car lowered, sound like incorrectly seated springs.
  11. The actual display in the center lights up fine, it's just the sweep around the outside. Where is the built in photo cell?
  12. hurrah, glad to help mate
  13. I have one of these fitted to my car. The unit itself functions perfectly. however, the LED's that sweep around the edge are really dim. Is anyone elses like this or does mine have a problem?
  14. Mate of mine had his rolled and recommends arch enemy. Google them,
  15. Yup, the ECU will learn its values and sort its life out after a few miles of varied driving. It's common for them to run rough, idle high/low when they are in this learn phase. Good luck with it mate. Make sure to keep us posted. I've found that on searching the threads, a lot of them just seem to stop after a bit of advice has been given and the OP has not stated whether they have sorted their car out.
  16. Yes, disconnecting the negative for about 30 secs will reset the ECU, but that may well be why your car is running rough. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=86801&highlight=reset+ECU+FCD See post 11.
  17. Being bored at work, I've searched around a bit, first thing to do, is rest the ECU after the FCD has been fitted. your car will run like crap until the ECU has learnt the values again. Report back after you've done this.
  18. Just so I get this right, you've only been getting problems after you installed the FCD?
  19. To kind of answer all your questions, you need a boost gauge. There is no hard and fast rule of what settings are best as every car seems different, there are so many variables that contribute to what boost levels your car will output with certain settings. For example, when I picked up my car,in warm weather, set to 60 will boost to 1.3bar with the 1.2 ring in place. First thing I did was lower it so it never goes over 1.2 A boost gauge will tell you what your car is boosting too, once you know this, you'll know where to set the boost controller.
  20. If I fit an aftermarket front bumper, there will be no where for me to fix the front undertray thing too. Is it ok to run without it?
  21. You sold the supe..................for THAT!! Seriously dude, best ad for specsavers if ever I saw one. Your supe was a thing of beauty Only kidding mate, yeah, I quite like the M coupe.
  22. The engine itself is tiny. Once you take off all the ancillaries (sp) and connections. you'll probably be able to lift it out and carry it on your own.
  23. Stay away from the 5zigen fireball if you don't like noise.
