  1. Well, what a nightmare job that was. Dropped the gearbox to get the selector out and it still wasn't enough. I had to drop the center prop carrier too to get even more leverage on the gearbox to remove the top bolt. So now onto my next hurdle please gentlemen. The carrier is obviously off, but how do I remove the selector shaft link (The fat bit with the spring clip.) in order for me to fit the new seal?
  2. Took 1 and 2 coils off today to lend to supraturbochris to diagnose a missfire, and I found this little brass ring thing sitting right next to number one spark plug hole. I'm sure I've seen them before, but can't imagine where it's come from, or where it's supposed to be.

  4. I'd love to get in on the tropical fishkeeping bandwagon. However, my inlaws bought my son a silly little puny toy tank with goldfish in 18 months ago. I've spent so much time and effort on the little blighters now that I've grown attached to them. Seeing as they can live for over 20 years, it doesn't look like I'll be getting tropical fish anytime soon. As I used to keep fish years ago, I knew about goldfish needing much more room than most people think and told my wife that we need a bigger tank. Catfish man very kindly gave me a 90ltr tank he was no longer using. Thing is now, they have now outgrown this tank, so I'm looking to upgrade again.....the filter also can't keep up with the amount of crap they produce. I've been looking at at the fluval 240ltr, just waiting for one to come up fairly local on aquarist. Oh, and I bought a couple of these the other day..... http://www.seriouslyfish.com/images/Garra%20flavatra3.jpg They are garra flavatra loaches, tough enough to live with goldfish and uber efficient glass cleaners. They cleared my whole tank in 2 days despite being supplimented with algae flakes.......greedy blighters.
  5. Will you take my mates celica in P/exchange?. He loves your car. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?242472-54-plate-Celica-for-sale-or-P-ex
  6. Please tell me you don't know that off the top of your head
  7. Haha, what a load of sh!te. The vet who examined the dog said his injuries were consistent with being 'shoved', really? Here's a pic of the family, (On route to the Jeremy Kyle studios)
  8. I've met James.....and his other half. If being gay gets you a woman who's that easy on the eyes, consider me out of the closet
  9. Jamie, you SO need to get over there with yours. Would love to see our resident nutter run against these guys
  10. I'd have my day in court for that matey, and be pretty confident of winning. There's too many variables that aren't accounted for in the test, and armed with some of the info already posted on this thread, a magistrate will dismiss it in seconds.
  11. It's also an auto, but he's replaced the center console section to make it 'look' like a manual.
  12. Oh no. You are very very lucky to have been completely unharmed. Glad to see you're ok though matey. Don't worry about the car, there are plenty about to replace it.
  13. Leep can make up a replacement leather gear gaiter which is better than the original.
  14. Bugger......I don't have a vice I think I'll pull the whole thing off the car, then see if the bushes fall out like yours did. If not, I'll take it down to my local indy to press them out. Think I'll double up the selector seal while I'm there. Cheers guys. Do the new aluminium things need pressing in.?
  15. It was on the Stephen Hawkings 'universe' program where he explained that nothing would exceed lightspeed, he also theorised that the expansion would eventually slow, then reverse back again. Compressing into a huge super mega monster black hole where everything would be sucked back in, then explode out again......big bang all over again.
  16. Just got my replacement aluminium selector bushes from Mr Whiffen (thanks again mate) through the post and had a quick couple of questions about fitting. 1) are the old bushes pressed into the carrier, will I need to remove the whole assembly to fit the new bushes using a press? 2) can this job be done without dropping the gearbox, or will I have to remove the prop and gearbox mount etc etc?
  17. Very interesting stuff, but his final theory is flawed according to other programs I've seen. He states that the rate of acceleration regarding the expansion of the universe will eventually outrun light, leaving the sky black. But other theories have shown that it is impossible for anything to exceed the speed of light. you can get to 99.99% of the speed, but never exceed it.
  18. This car is still up for sale, those of you that saw the original advert will remember it had some minor cosmetic issues. These have all now been repaired, and the car is in excellent condition. He's also even more desperate to get into a new car that he's selling it at even less than before. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3057390.htm http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/aimg/3057/3057390-1.jpg http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/aimg/3057/3057390-3.jpg £2250 ono
