  1. They even want to charge her for giving it back? Cheeky bastards!
  2. I had this on my car when my neighbour painted his house, so nice of him. Light blue dots all over one side. I managed to use an old credit card and very carefully lifted most of them off. Some seemed more stuck than others though
  3. Been there a couple of times, lovely city in a very very nice country. Go see the Vassar, the ship they have recovered and restored, it's an amazing museum.
  4. Same as with mine, so thought it was a safe bet. Although thinking about it, I think the other members all have aftermarket springs which I don't. Thought that would make it more likely not to rub, but I guess the springs have gone a bit soft over time.
  5. I've just got Rota's on mine (standard UK suspension) and they rub on the offside rear and nearside front occasionally. The nearside rear has just had a new shock and spring and is absolutely fine so I'm thinking a new shock and spring the other side will solve the problem. I'm loathed to go to lowered stiffer springs on my car as the exhaust hangs low enough already and my town has speed humps everywhere
  6. I did Jon, took about 2 months, I filed with the court and they paid up just before it actually went to court.. Was quite simple really.
  7. Ford also made about 18 RS1700T's in the mk3 shape, they never got round to full production though. Had wide arches, a 1.7l turbo lump and rear wheel drive. Said that only a few survived being crushed http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/car_info/esc31700t.htm
  8. No, only get it skimmed if it's not flat. Otherwise just make sure the surface is very clean (possibly get it lightly resurfaced but don't take any meat off it). Needs pressure testing though, definitely.
  9. I can certainly ask him, don't see why he couldn't? Is it off the car at the mo, if so I could show it to him and see what he can do?
  10. If you get stuck for any reason, my friends brother is a very competent welder and can help out. I forgot to ask him last time though, my memory is awful, sorry Dick!
  11. I've had a half-size plate on mine for about 6 months and not had any trouble. Not sure what the dimensions are off the top of my head though.. Apart from that it has the same font so it's quite easy to read, just little
  12. Any options so far? Just don't buy anything French

    Who's at work?

I'm at work, working as hard as usual.. It is nearly elevenses though
  14. I used to work for Rentokil, their parent company and we used (were obliged to use) Citylink to send the computers around the country and back again for repair. Nine times out of ten they get to us with more damage than they were sent out with, and very often they'd end up arriving back at the local offices quite broken. We saw the van driver loading the van one day and all became clear, as he'd stand in the doorway to the building and literally hoof the boxes right on to the back of his van. When challenged his answer was "well they're not mine, I don't care do I". Great attitude Getting compensation out of them is an absolute joke too, they will usually just ignore you until you go away, they never once paid us out for damage.
  15. Welcome to a very elite club, not many UK manuals about
  16. They look in the pic like they may be multi-fitment as in there's two sets of bolt holes with different PCD's? Maybe you just offered up the wrong set of bolt holes?

    Smart cars

I drove one of the little Smart roadsters a while ago, really enjoyed it, cool fun car. The only thing that let it down was the gearbox, they're pretty horrible until you get them remapped so that they change properly. I drove off down the road and thought I'd broken it, it took that long to drop in to second
  18. Yes you can, but you might have to send proof of who you are such as a copy of a passport or driving licence. You don't even need to know the account numbers etc. as they should supply you with this.
  19. It's not about agreeing, it's plain chemistry. Oil burns blue and water/coolant burn white. Too much fuel will burn a grey/black colour. Easy and time-proven ways to tell what's going on with your car.
  20. Dick, I can get you a nice discount on the turbo technics job if you want, drop me a PM
  21. Ticking noise that increases with revs sounds a bit like a leaky exhaust/exhaust manifold? Or could be something with the fan if you know already that it is dodgy? Nothing hanging down catching in it is there?
  22. Mid-pipe and rear box from UK Supra, both in very good condition. Took them off the car when I got it to be replaced with a Blitz system. I'm not messing around posting so collection only I'm afraid, they're just too big and heavy. Don't want much for them, just a couple of beer tokens and them out the way PM me if interested!
  23. This won't go down well.. I paid £5k for my UK6 with about 104k on the clock last April Nothing dodgy about it at all, FTSH etc. and very well looked after. Right place, right time, was a lucky boy
  24. I wish mine was that cheap on a UK spec I'm paying £800 FC and I'm 24.. I thought that was quite good.
