  1. You can't remember what wire goes where then??? Not a fan of scotch locks either, but all are good connections, and it's just a temp thing. The yellow wire isn't a wire, it's a protective covering for some wires, looks stock. Phone call to Thor on Monday I think. Cheers for the help.
  2. TBH I don't know if this box is just a SLD or a SLD and converter, it looks as though it's had the green wire and yellow wire used, as was previously fitted to a supra, does that give and clues?? Yep it's a MK1. If it's a SLD and converter, can just the SLD be used?? Can you remeber what wire went onto the ECU?? yellow or green?? Really apprieciate the help, I don't get to use it much, so really getting on my nerves as I've got the weekend off, probably stick it all back together I think as it currently looks like this
  3. DB, I was following your pic on the LOC, I'm ahh aristo on there. I connected the yellow wire from the SLD to the ECU wire you show, took my power from pin 1 on the ECU, (ignition switch) and grounded it to a mounting point. I have left the speedo head alone, as it was already speedo converted. Thanks to the instructions Mas uploaded (thanks very much, really apprieciated) I've just removed the speedo head to find out it's completely different to the supra as you say. Was going to ring Thor, but think they'd be closed now. Would be really greatful if you could tell me how you connected yours, including which colour wires from the SLD went where. Thanks all for your replies, cars currently, carpets up and speedo out
  4. Hi all hopefully someone can help, I have searched, but couldn't see posts with my probs. The car's a 92 Aristo TT, and has had it's speedo converted but not delimited. I recently brought a Thor SLD of a member, and fitted yesterday afternoon. Wasn't able to drive it till yesterday evening, and when I hit 60-70 the engine light came on, then followed by a flashing O/D light. Through searching, I see the flashing lights is commonly due to a dodgy conversion or delimiter. Could someone confirm my wiring is right?? Yellow wire----cut ecu pin 2 wire, leave loom side unconnected and join ecu side and yellow together Red---power (i connected to pin 1) Black----earth (i connected to ecu mounting point) I've redone all connections, and took it for a drive earlier, and just the engine light came on, but puled over quicker this time, then put all back as stock and no problems. Does anyone have any ideas?? could the SLD be knackered?? Could fitting this unit be causing problems with the speed converter?? (was fitted before I brought the car, and presumably the wiring for that is behine the dials) Thanks in advance.
  5. I use these, but know nothing about this sort of stuff, so my view is useless http://www.vodahost.com/features.htm
  6. 5 hours to Scotland with a Tow truck?? Seriously, put your mods in writing to them, and if you do breakdown again, all your details will be flagged on the computer, and will go out with the job if it's sub contracted out. Even though the call center person may sound understanding of your needs, they rarely send out the info to the sub contractor. Sorry to bleat on, I'm in the industry
  7. When you started your policy, did you inform them your car was modified?? is the towing eye still accessible?? Was it the AA themselves?? or a sub contractor?? as I don't believe the AA have any specialist vehicles themselves. 90% of the time a normal tilt and slide flat bed will load anything with the right operator/driver. I would put it in writing to them if you haven't told them of your modifications (no need for engine mods) as they have the right to refuse you, your recovery. I'm a little surprised AVRA only gave you an hourly rate, as almost all recovery companies base it on mileage.
  8. I went a couple of years back. You have to change your money over there as it's a closed currency, it's a jailable offence if your found taking any currency out, even coins (check your kids pockets if you've got any) Take a couple of bottles of JD over there, you can sell them to the waiters, as a bottle of JD over there costs the equivilent of £80. Always get a price from taxi drivers first, as they'll bump the price up. Only go to shopping places recommended by your rep/friends as there's some dodgy, very dodgy sellers. Barter on everything. Not to be missed................quad biking in the Sahara desert, camel riding, seeing where star wars was made (can't remember which one)
  9. Yup, was wondering if the diff ratio's were the same/different though out of interest.
  10. Hi, interested in seeing if there's any differences in the final drive between the Aristo TT and Supra TT Mine rev needle sit's dead between the 2250rpm and 2500rpm marker at an indicated 70 MPH. (that's in D, O/D on) Can you remember the last time you sat at 70?? lol Thanks in advance.
  11. The DVLA will supply a list IIRC as the MK3 supra owners club has one for all the MK3's. Shows exact model, and how many registered each year. Not sure how you go about getting it though.
  12. I don't know to be honest, I'm not a 'Gold Member' or any of the lesser ones they do. LOL at Jake. Mad Matt---go ahead whenever you like please.
  13. Nah, I was lurking earlier and saw the post. I don't mind having my username changed, as I'll only be an occasional poster. If you have the powers to change it, then could you change it to LuxobargeTT please.
  14. Sorry, being lurking for a while now
