  1. Not long now! Looking forward to seeing it finished!
  2. It's funny you should mention it, I was only looking at classic minis on PH the other day....then bike powered kit cars and then along came Ric and his crazy idea of you, me and RobSheffield all buying supras again! Took me a while to remember my password for the forum, and I think I'll change my username if I plan on hanging around for a while
  3. Thanks Mr Jamesmark! It's Ric, he's trying to persuade me to buy another one! Hope you're well? I hear you are thinking of coming back into supra ownership? /hijack, sorry Ric
  4. Here is my obligatory post to subscribe to your thread. Don't forget to come and take me for a spin when it's finished
  5. hmmm sorry about the link, not sure why thats not working. Just search his name and then threads started by him. Yeh mark the last time I saw him was about 2-3 years ago. Agreed general bodywork condition was 'ok' and at the time I think he was beginning to buy in parts for his single conversion
  6. and heres everything you'll want to know about the car http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/search.php?searchid=8066930
  7. Thats Toms old car, his username is/was tom123tom123 iirc. Autobox and I 'think' its a XS power turbo/manifold, there were a few issues with mapping I think too. Do a search on his username, he was always asking questions on here Edit, username was/is 123tom123tom http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/member.php?u=16491 and hasn't been online since november 2008!
  8. ahhh yes, interesting! I think this is what I'm after... Will have a closer look at the links tomorrow when my brain isn't tired Thanks for the help and replies people
  9. hmmm isn't that more about the differences and not the similarities? Tried that, not really getting a direct comparison to be able to find any similarities
  10. Ok so this may seem really simple, but I'm just stuck for what to start writing... I've been studying impact forces and deceleration due to gravity etc etc blah blah and one of the questions is... "Explain any similarities between the helmet (pushbike/skateboard type) and a car airbag in providing safe deceleration" So, apart from the obvious 'they both buffer and reduce the impact force due to momentum and/or gravity' I'm a little lost for words. Its only worth 4 marks so don't want to spend too much time on it, but 4 marks usually means raise 4 points/issues. Any input from any boffs on here please?
  11. It cost me a fair bit to pass my test... CBT - £90 Theory - £31 DAS - £420 Mod 1 - £15.50 (which I failed) Mod 2 - £75 (couldn't take as I failed Mod 1) Mod 1 - £15.50 (passed!) Mod 2 - £75 (failed ) Mod 2 - £75 So, bear in mind you're not guaranteed to pass first time, it can become expensive! Then theres all the gear... budget at least £600 Its great fun though, good luck with it ps. I got a Yamaha R6 for my first bike, its awesome but I messed up and came off it 2 weeks after passing my test. My advice is take your time and don't get over confident, you'll get bitten in the ass if you do!
  12. Front wheel width - 9J with +47 offsett Rear wheel width - 10.5J with +50 offset
