  1. Treated my 20 yr old UK spec Supra to a total body makeover including replacement of rusty wheel arches, needing new windscreen, seals, badges etc. Cost was £2900!!!!
  2. Yep you definitely can't get lower than 0 miles. LOL!
  3. The only reason for selling is having owned it for 10 years, I fancy a change. I'll stick in PH for £10K and see what happens. I'm in no rush to sell and with a Caterham and two motorbikes, I don't need an immediate replacement and there's no urgent dodgy surgical operation for which I need the money for.
  4. Quite sure. A mate afflicted with OCD subscribes to a MOT testers magazine. I was only reading it last Monday having just failed MOT for having PIAA LED sidelights with a slight blue tint. Even had an article about HIDs with washers and auto levelling being a requirement. So I've gotten away with by the skin of my teeth mainly because everybody including MOT testers and the Hot Fuzz on a learning curve. HIDs are becoming a dazzling issue. Be careful out there.
  5. Written up the advert for Pistonheads but just can't press the submit advert button. It's like shooting your pet dog. I'll drink about it over the weekend. LOL!
  6. Jurgen is the price setter on the grey imports. Most of the UK specs I've seen are well into 100,000 miles. That plus the EC friendly registration and insurance could probably squeeze a few bob. £10K? Worth a punt.
  7. More down to lack of education than luck. Once the local bobbies work out what to look out for, it'll be back to halogens.
  8. After 10 years and while the Supe still has 51 weeks MOT, it's time to sell up, get something newer and a little more practical (Focus RS). It's an M reg UK Spec auto with 69,000 miles and more or less unmodified. Yes boring isn't it. I've had some interest but to be honest I'm absolutely clueless what to pitch it at. Last year, a French chap offered £11K but then bottled out and bought an Audi TT (???). Comments.
  9. Actually it's worse than that. Hot Fuzz will pull you over and give you a verbal ticking off, possibly a few points and a £60 contribution to solve the national debt crisis. Most car accessory shops stopped selling HID kits citing them as illegal (aka not worth the grief). I got away with it as being a UK Spec it had levelling headlights (albeit not auto) and headlight washers. Also made sure mine were the whiter shade of white.
  10. Hang onto the old bulbs. You'll need to swap those over to pass the MOT. Their pretty hot about any lights with a blue tint. Instant epic fail. The other guideline to fit HIDs is a car should have auto leveling and headlight washers.
  11. Oi spare a thought for the bunny you butchered ... ... right that's enough.
  12. Stock UK spec auto except HIDs and front TRD strut brace.
  13. A few weeks ago I found a small puddle of oil infront of the offside rear wheel. I guessed it was the diff oil cooler. Whipped off the plastic shield. Both inlet and outlet pipes were so badly corroded at the rubber hoses it had sprung a leak. The local Toyota dealer and a trader here quoted £277+20% VAT! . So I asked a local firm Cheltenham Radiator if they could fix it. 4 days and £30 later, hey presto, just refitted the repaired cooler. They cut and butt welded both connections, pressure tested it, fixed the mounting plate and sprayed it black. Propah job!
  14. A Ferrari badge on the bonnet. Then my 16 yr old UK spec would still worth £43K.
  15. Very difficult. It's either the Supra, Caterham 7, Yamaha R1, Triumph Speed Triple or the RVF400.
  16. The flashing LED lights were 'illegal' because the when they came out 20 yrs ago, the Highway Code said that bike lights had to project a constant beam. LEDs don't as such send out a beam, they're just a very bright light source. Some jobsworth stuck to last letter of the word even though LEDs are a zillion times brighter. These days PC Plod has woken upto commonsense. When I'm on my treader it's like a Crimbo tree on two wheels. The other hazard are cyclists who don't have any lights.
  17. All the above. Do not plug yourself upto your MP3 player/iPod. If your using cycle paths then beware of pedestrians especially little kids and people walking dogs. Remember there is no law that says you have to use a cycle path. If you're going at a fair rate of knots and collide with pedestrian you could easily kill them. I use the roads when I'm doing 15 mph+.
  18. Clueless why it's such a problem. £240 fully comp protected NCB. Probably coz I am 47.
  19. I think you suffer from OCD and desperately need to see a head shrinker.
  20. Ex-pat. Isn't that the same as an immigrant?

I've never stopped collecting bikes. You'll learn that 2 strokers like the Honda NSR250 and the Aprilia RS250 are very collectible. Very light and flip in and out of corners like a MotoGP machine.

You'll quickly get bored with scooters and 125s. I started off with a Honda CG125 (110+mpg) then Honda Hornet 600. Now got a Triumph 1050 Speed Triple, Honda RVF400 and a Yamaha R1 as well as the Caterham 7 and using the Supra as my sensible shopping car.
  23. This in on twin Weber 40 DCOEs hence the K & Ns poking out the side. The Zetec though not the lighter than the K series is definitely more reliable. Indeed Raceline the guys who built the engine do a 200 bhp conversion. Before that I'll uprate the front brakes.
  24. I looked at a 93 plate 1.7 Kent x-flow Roadsport for £10.5K an yet I also looked at an 05 Academy 1.6 K series race car for the same price, an 05 Roadsport with a 1.6 K series for £15K, get the picture. There's no rhyme or reason to the pricing. I started off with the idea of an R400 and looked at a track day machine with no tax or MOT for £23.5K. It's still on Pistonheads. It was undriveable on the road. After 2 months I realised lets start off with a Roadsport. The one I ended up with was tuned to 160 bhp so happy all round. [GRIN][/GRIN]. Here's a few snappies I took for the agreed valuation.
