i got my covers off over the studs and back on again with abit of jiggling, all about patience lol

we should think ourselves lucky as the cam cover bolts on na celicas and skylines have phillips heads lol, not the easiest think to get tight!

thats what i had haydn. if you remove the idle contol air hose you can get to the two bolts at back of cam covers and tighten them as mine were finger tight. Seems to be common prob with jap cars, seen it on my previous gt four, current celica and a handful of skylines

yes thats what i thought was obvious but it says check the tension before it says fit the tensioner lol. I have equal slack on the inlet cam pulley to crank pulley aswell which i would have said was normal until tensioner is fitted?

im clearly being a wimp then as i have slack there with the timing marks lined up this is with the tensioner off still btw

up to what revs are you getting the noise?

when fitting the timing belt on a manual tt according to workshop manual it says "check tension between exhaust camshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley" exactly what tension should be there though?!
