not quite true C... Classical music is defined as being" traditional or long standing form or style or written in the European tradition during a period lasting approximately from 1750 to 1830"... Classic doesn't mean the same....

james the dictonary definition of classic is "Something of quality which has stood the test of time".... 7 years iis hardly "the test of time" mate.... This is the problem of misusing your own language. When you start using the word classic for something only 7 years old, then it is pointless having the word in the first place, which by its definition is to instantly convey to the litener/reader that the article in question is of good quality and of a certain age. If you take away the true meaning from the usage of the word classic, then eventually it has no meaning and you will be back to having to explain or write in full "something of quality which has stood the test of time" instead of using the convenient word "classic."

Why are you asking me?..... Dunno really...Classic cars are generally over 20-25 years old Classic "modern" music would be from the 50s, 60's and 70s and maybe the early 80s. Dunno what you would call the 90s music (I know what I would call it though...)...

That's a different thing james. Vintage wine is different to wine of a vintage circa 2006........in the latter the wine nobs have simply substituted the word "vintage" to mean "year"... That doesn't mean you can start substituting the word "classic" for "class".....

I suggest you "research" the word classic james. It's nothing to do with being first, it's to do with withstanding the test of time. It's a time thing, not a first thing.... They may well be future classics, but they aren't old enough yet..

No, it would be an obsession.... Seriously that would just be a favourite C.. the word classic by definition is something that has stood the test of time..even our cars aren't classics yet and some of them are 15 years old...

How can something only 7 years old be a classic?...you got to wait a few more years to earn that distinction......

This thread seems a bit off.... I dare say a lot of the traders on here also buy up parts they don't sell on straight away and they end up sitting on the shelf for months on end... Then when someone suddenly needs that part, at least it is immediately available, albeit maybe at a higher price than the trader paid for it. I have no qualms with that. If the trader cannot make money on their deals, then in the long run everyone suffers, because that trader will no longer be around when we need them. You can't have it both ways people.............

All you have to do is remember two things: 1. Flying is safer than driving. 2. You enjoy your lifestyle and freedom (and a Soop to enjoy it in) today because 50 odd years ago, young naive kids used to jump into wooden crates every day and just get off the runway fully laden with bombs, then get flakked as soon as they passed the Dutch/French/Belgian coast, then attacked by 109s an, 110s, FW190s all the way to the target, then flakked again over the target and then do the whole thing again on the way home. So stop being a pussy. Think what they went through EVERy SINGLE DAY!....and they had no choice and did it for poor pay too... So now, when I am sitting on the end of a runway waiting for take off in a state of the art modern aircraft, I always think of them and imagine what it would be like in a 1940s aircraft. After that I just enjoy the power from the engines and the take off...go baby!..... The rest of the flight is easy...
