  1. Yes I have, it is good, very good. A Evo will do it better, for cheaper. Heaven forbid someone on here other than you could have driven one. Its not a bloody Veyron! Sorry, I forgot, a Porsche 996 is all the car a man ever needs. M-way = 996 turbo Wet B-road = 996 turbo Need to tow a caravan = 996 turbo Offroading? Pah, no Landy needed, just take your trusty 996 turbo. No; I am very scared of you; I heard 996 turbos are pretty damn good fighters too.
  2. A lot of German cars dipped in build quality big time in the mid 90s to mid 00s. (especially Mercs), but are supposed to be getting their act together now. With that in mind, perhaps something a little older; or a newish one if you can stretch to it.
  3. WFT? How exactly did my post come across as Porsche-bashing? You seem to be making yourself in to a victim! "911 very capable" , "911 great car" "would take one over an Evo" yeah I am a real Porsche hater. Sorry that I do not believe it to be the greatest car in EVERY dispiline, must make me a hater. TWAT
  4. You are right, I forgot that they used the old block, and are dry sumped? Hmm, I have driven quite a few modded Evos and Scoobs (Did I say stock? No, so don't try and put words in my mouth, ta), on a wet bumpy road, as specified, a 996 turbo won't see what way one has gone. The 996 is a great car, don't get you panties in a knot over it. You pointed out, it is superior in such conditions to an Ultima (and many other very fast cars too....), I simply added that the 996 turbo is not king of the hill in such conditions, and it is not. Horses for courses. I would have the 996 turbo over the Evo, and an Ultima over both, but each has its best areas.
  5. The 911 is very capable, true. But the 996 turbo has FMS problems - if it breaks, it will make 1/2 an Ultima build look cheap! Also, compare the cost of those RUF/GT 911s, in price alone he won't be able to afford one with the budget he has! A well built Ultima is an awesome machine. Will it be at home keeping up the a 996 turbo in the wet on a bumpy road? No. But if that is what you want, I will take an old Evo/Scoob any day, waste the Porsche in said conditions; and leave the rest in the bank!
  6. Any suggestions for a company to do this? Do not mind travelling....... just so long as it is a decent job (unlike 99% of UK automotive aftermarket industry) Estimated price would be nice also. Cheers Syed
  7. My deepest sympathies Chris.
  8. Cerb? Enjoy - you only live once!
  9. My Mastiff's happily sit in the Soarer (or Supra). I just take out the front seat. 5 bolts, can do it quicker than most people can remove the seats in an MPV/estate anyway. Makes for safer transport for a large dog IMO.
  10. HKS 272s should also be treated as interference. A lot of Yanks use them with good results.
  11. Can crack them in 500 miles. Unlikey though.
  12. Seriously? For love nor money?! So what do people with 20k in mods on a car with a 5k book value, do?
  13. Hi everyone, Any suggestions for an agreed value insurer that is ok with Imports and drivers under 25? Cheers Syed
  14. Indeed. Shame really. It is too late for me, I am going/gone Motec. But looks promising for the future, deffo something to keep an eye on.
  15. I ordered tires x 4 from tirerack in the US. Came faster than wheel nuts/studs from one of our UK traders (which also happened to be wrong.....) Really, we might still have the best niche engineering; but for everything else car related, the US pisses on the UK, especially on customer service. All IMO from someone who has been there/done that, and spent the money involved.
  16. The ProEFI unit claims to be able to utilise flexfuel sensors.
  17. I agree with Eric. Send it to the US. It WILL be cheaper and quicker than the UK, I assure you.
  18. Yep - K5 GSXR-1000 here, in stealth black. Great bit of kit. Not fast enough tho.....
  19. Know a good bulk supplier Chris? I have not added it up, but it must be quite a bit. They get lots of meat, as I eat a lot myself anyway.
  20. So are these 2-way adjustable Bilsteins? Remote reservoir? Chris, I will be seeing you in the next few months for some suspension work. Just unsure what to go with.
  21. Is it agreed value? Otherwise, fully comp, all mods declared, they will just write it off if you crash, give you book value, and keep the car. No ta.
  22. That really sounds like a nightmare, the very best luck in getting it sorted. Going out with a girl purely because she is fit (and hence is a status symbol of sorts) is a dumb idea generally.

    Kaaz LSD

Definately 1.5 way. As others have stated, a 2 way would not be the best bet.
