JODY T appears to have bought the kit off ebay (see above) That kit is specifically for an NA (non turbo). To convert it to a single turbo. It won't fit a TT so you can't have 3 turbo's As far as 'is it possible to turn my NA in to a TT?" = NA to Twin Turbo = I'm guessing it can be done but pointless considering how much it would cost (probably cheaper to swap the engine for a real TT) NA to Single Turbo = Yes, hence the kit above & others like it. I would convert my NA to single turbo tomorrow if it wasn't going to cost me £5000+..

Update - Now fixed Turns out it must have been a dry solder in the Odo after all. The Code 42 fix i tried suggested by Dave on this thread didn't work http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=72588&highlight=error I have now updated that thread with a diagram showing how i fixed mine. Thanks for all your advice and help. It was much appreciated I'm just glad that it's all fixed and working properly.

Hi, hope this can be of some help to people. (It's already been mentioned above but hopefully this will clarify things) I had lots of problems with my odo & speed sensitive steering etc. See this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=89041 I tried Dave's Code 42 fix; This didn't work for me. I still got the warning lights & code 42 and the power steering stayed very light. After reading the above post i didn't bother trying this as i just assumed it wouldn't work and would mess up my speedo. After trying everything else possible i lost my rag, tried it, and now my car works perfectly fine. No error 42 and the progressive steering works fine, as it should. I was over the moon! I'm not saying that Dave's way doesn't work (because it has for him) but i suggest trying both ways of wiring before moving on to something else! I wish i had! (it only takes a few minutes whereas re-soldering every part of the circuit board doesn't! netiher does removing your speed converter and re-fitting it! Doh! ) Recap - The method that worked for me was joining the pink wire and the blue/red wire (behind the dash) and then only having the blue/red wire connected to the plug going into the odo. The pink wire going into the odo plug should be cut. This sends the speed signal straight to the ecu down the pink wire and the info needed for the odo goes in through the red/blue wire. (this has been mentioned by stevie b above ) I have made a quick diagram in case my ramblings make no sense; I just hope this helps people to fix the problem a lot quicker than i did!

Good luck with the kit. Keep us posted with how you get on as i could be interested in a similar kit for mine

It's a Top Secret bumper the same as mine (see garage for more pics). It was on the car when i bought it but apparently it was bought off ebay. Fits fine & is good quality. Mine has vents fitted to cover the holes meant for the side lights

You have to upgrade or they won't let you accept money. I did it a while ago, can't remember it costing any money or causing any problems.. I was also a bit sceptical at first though I'll paypal you my money through on monday, as soon as i get paid -
Yeah, shame he only drove it in the film for 5mins before writing it off! ... Hey.. at least he did it in style though!
-
Done mine!!!

Re-edited to make it even less obvious..

Cheers for that guys! Well i guess that's answered my question!

No problem. Be careful taking the heater controls apart if you do it. Aparently the ribbon connection breaks easily Now i'm just waiting for my blue led's to arrive from ebay!

Any news on some video footage from the night?

hi, I'm after the piece of dash that clips around the three main dials. Anyone got one spare? Edit; Doesn't matter if the clips are broken etc.. It's for an experiment so will be cutting it up anyway Looking to pay £10ish similar to this thread - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=71499&highlight=dial+sale Thanks Rob

Hi, thanks for the replys I nipped outside at dinnertime to have a look. The wires look ok going into the steering rack & the grey plug just up from it wasn't loose. Apart from a visual inspection & pulling the plug apart, how could i check if it's faulty? Will be going home at 3.30 so i'll see if it's any different.

Yeah, another excellent turnout this month. I got there late and told the parking ladies 'it's ok, let me through, i can park down the bottom end & block some of my mates in'.. went past all the people queuing to get in, got down to the bottom & it was rammed with no spaces! oops managed to get a good spot anyway.. Ian - Put me down for 2 places at the Christmas meal please I wish i had got a picture of that, did you see the size of the renault badge on the back?? haha It must of been off a lorry or something!! I overheard somebody saying 'look what happens when you stir a tub of glitter in the paint', i found that quite amusing We were stood in front of these for a while. I wondered where the smell of weed was coming from, then i noticed the driving rolling one up I'm sure when they were leaving i could hear one of their ASBO tags beeping... it must of been past their curfew Rob...

I don't think i've been near the steering rack but i guess it's worth a check. Where do the wires plug into it? behind the dash or under the bonnet/car? @geoffvalenti - I've got a feeling it's probably to do with the speed converter & i think i'm going to fit a Thor one anyway as i've heard they keep the PPS functioning correctly. I'll need to find & take the old one out first though & return the wiring to normal. Hope it's not a massive job. I've looked behind the speedo & dash but can't see it. I'm hoping it’s in the passenger footwell as i haven't checked there yet. I will give Pete Betts a call though to see if he can help. I'm guessing that if i remove the old speedo converter and the problem still exists then it's got to be something else. Odometer or other wire/plug loose. Thanks for your advice guys it's appreciated. I'll get this sorted one way or another, Rob
