  1. Could probably get to France quicker! It's a straighter route!
  2. I've checked the picture and i'd also say head gasket. Either that or a red shell stuck in the engine! lol!
  3. Some people have too much free time.... lol
  4. I've had a few problems logging in tonight. So have a few other people i've spoken to...
  5. Well i'm off work for half term so i should be able to make this one! 1.Rob Wild 2.Dr.Doom 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
  6. Not yet mate but i'm going too I've spent this afternoon searching the web for info & from what i've found i can update my log book through the DVLA with the new engine and then just insure it as a TT (well that's what it will be!) Doesn't seem like a complicated process either Link for anyone interested :- http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/ChangesToYourRegistrationCertificate/DG_4022054 Had a quote from Adrian flux this afternoon for a TT which is cheaper than i'm paying for my NA! I'll give A-Plan a go as well as they seem really good!
  7. Also, I took this photo at JAE last year, not sure if it's someone's on here. Nice, but not the proper widebody castrol supra though
  8. I did expect that. I can't see it costing as much as a £600 hike in insurance though!
  9. Cheers guys, That's what i thought.. I had a quote from them earlier on a TT and it was cheaper than i'm paying at the moment for the NA! Anyone had any experience of engine swaps & the DVLA? You'd think it'd be straightforward enough surely?
  10. I’ve been trying to get an insurance quote prior to having an NA-TT conversion. I phoned Sky for a quote and let’s just say the guy on the other end of the phone didn’t fill me with confidence. He said that the underwriters have nothing to compare it too as it’s an NA with a TT engine so the quote was quite high (almost double what I’m paying on the NA! ). He then gave me the usual phone back if you get a cheaper quote etc and I’ll see what I can do. Now if I inform the DVLA of the engine swap and it gets listed on the Log book as having a TT engine then couldn’t I just insure it as a TT? I’ve got quotes for a TT and they’re coming back almost identical to what I’m paying on the NA. When I was 18 I had a Nova (don’t laugh) that had a 1.1 engine swapped to a 1.4 before I bought it. This was updated on the log book and it was simple to insure. None of this, ‘well it’s a 1.1 with a 1.4 engine so it’s going to cost lots more to insure’ like Sky told me. Anyway, any help / info would be much appreciated
