clutch tick/ticking when clutch not compressed

I've had 3 different NA gearboxes now and tried numerous clutches (stock & aftermarket) and i've always had this noise when the clutch is not pressed in. I used to think it was the release bearing/ pilot bearing but changing these didn't stop it either. It must be a bearing in the actual box itself. I guess it's just one of those things . I'm looking forward to getting my 6spd box fitted so i don't have to hear it anymore -

This is right near where i live! The traffic is a bloody nightmare with everyone getting off the motorway to try and go around. It's taken me ages to get home from work!

The TT prop seperates on a spline before the bracket where it bolts to the car. The NA prop seperates on a 4-bolt flange after the braket where it bolts to the car.

I have been told that it is possible to swap just the front of the diff so that it fits the NA propshaft. I'm pretty sure your option 'a' wont work as TT and NA prop shafts don't split in the same place.

lol! I've got a v161 going in soon so fingers crossed there'll be no more gearbox disasters! I got my last w58 from a breakers yard after phoning a few places. There are some about but they're becoming rarer.

I only drove up to Jurgen's about a fortnight ago so it's a fair distance to drive again so soon! We'll definitely have to have a localish meet though once you're back! Glad to see you're staying in the supra fold

It's a definite no The clutches/flywheels on NA's and TT's are completely different. AFAIK one's a push type and the others a pull type.

I went to watch this at the cinema last night and really enjoyed it! Well worth a watch! Quite a complex storyline but very well directed so it was easily understandable. Quite a long film but i didn't get bored in the slightest Also, it's now at No.3 on IMDB's top 250 film list!
