  1. Hey, that's me! I'm rarely on here, so it's a bit of a late reply (currently just checking how to change interior lights without breaking anything in the process). Cool pic of the car too - thanks Not female though, although the long hair might give that impression at a quick glace!
  2. SteveC - THANKS :-) My temperature control's been weird for a while, sometimes getting hot and cold, other times doing nothing. Turns out to be that dastardly actuating arm ... which was sometimes working when the passenger well foot mat pushed against it, or the linkage caught on the clip.
  3. Have you tried RT Gaiger? He's worked on my MX5, Alfa, and Supras before, getting clutches changed, wings resprayed, services done, MoTs and stuff. Always reliable, a friendly chap, costs appear reasonable, and all that.
  4. That'd be me! The g/f and I decided to spend the last bit of the afternoon at the local finishing work, instead of sitting at home watching the clock slowly tick away to 5:30pm ... the sticker's a lie, as it's an NA (although I heard it does add at least 6bhp just by being on the car). It's got the (almost) black wheels, carpet, and headliner - just got black-backed headlights to finish the look, but need to sort out fitting them, still.

    Cat repellents

I put down freshly ground pepper where my cats were shredding the carpet, and that stopped them heading to those areas ...
  6. Difficult to say, as the evening and weekend stuff varies a lot. I get around 20mpg in bad stop/start town traffic, and 34mpg on the motorway, if my calculations are right. You should be able to work out a ballpark figure from that ... New O2 sensors made a difference to the mpg :-)
  7. Yeah - mines been in daily use for the last year, as was the one before that for three years. The commute's only about 10 miles a day, but she gets some long trips at the weekends. It's quite a practical car, though: with the back seats down you can fit a lot from Ikea in there, or a mountain bike, and the seats are perfectly designed for transporting cats in carriers :-) When it snows I take the bus, or work from home, though ...
  8. You could stick a 'fire exit' sign on it and claim it's only for emergencies, or place a few bricks in front of the gate and claim it's a 'small low wall' :-)
  9. There's always the Whifbitz NA-T package (which has tempted me on many occasion) ... wasn't that circa £4k + fitting + mapping?
  10. Pretty sure I didn't take the nose off when I changed my wings as I remember changing the nose somewhere else, at another time, with more tools, and some help. The lights were out, as they were getting changed at the same time, though.
  11. I did this a few years ago without too much trouble. From an old post I made: ... two bolts under the door sill, two by the door hinges, one behind the light, loads under the bonnet, and all the ones attaching the wheel well plastics. I think there's a couple inside attaching behind the nose that you can just reach if you pull the plastic out the way and put the wheels on lock. Then you just have to pop out the indicator by moving it to the side, or disconnecting the loom to it as you take the wing off. Make sure you attach the fixings under the sill and by the door hinges before attempting to open/close the door, as these hold it rigid - without those it'll bow in slightly and foul the edge of the door Yeah, on the last point I managed to chip and bend my new wing 5 minutes after putting it on the car :-(
  12. I thought those hooks in the nose (coming out of the grille, assuming those are the ones you're referring to) were tie-down hooks for when the cars were originally shipped, and not for towing ... I could be wrong though!
  13. See posts 1 and 28 here: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?532699-Finally-writeup-on-how-to-fix-sagging-seat-belts./page2 Apparently "If you have a problem where your belt only tensions backup when you press the release button for belt, (obviously defeating the purpose of the belt) all you have to do is simply disconnect the ONLY wire connection going to the seat belts." I've not tried it yet, although I have the same issue ... a quick look indicated you can get to this cable by just removing the rear speaker and bracket, and reaching through to the belt tensioner though. I've got this on my 'things to sort out" list, along with replacing the rear rusty wiper.
