    You could but a turbo capable of 1200bhp (80mm ish) wont be a great car to drive at 700 bhp because of the lag, a fast spooling 700bhp would murder it. Its not very hard to swap turbos though, i might do this myself, get the 1000bhp i want but just use it for the drag days, fit a 6765 at around 700bhp for 90% of my driving.
  2. No secret, just build the new engine, fit the hypertune manifold, bigger cams and double springs, flow the head, new fuel system, see what that does.
  3. 700bhp is most likely fine for a healthy engine, just dont run it to hard in the higher gears would be my advice. Im still going with the same plan.
  4. It was only running 2 bar in the first 3 gears mate, and had race fuel in it.
  5. Thats another thing i forgot to mention, i was having boost issues on the day, i could not get over 1.3bar in 6th, most likely about 600bhp tops, we later realised i still had the boost set to be lower in 6th from when we first mapped it two gears ago, gear dependant boost was set to run low boost in 6th.
  6. Ive never held it flat out on the road in 6th gear like you do at thunder road. This is the first engine we are talking about, the stock rod has failed.
  7. No signs of det anywhere, its amazing really, it knocked like mad for the drive home, next day when i started it up it sounded fine, i drove it flat out to Lee's and it performed like normal, all with a twisted rod, Lee said its proper twisted an all.

When i did the first thunder road on my stock engine at the begining of last year it devolped a knocking noise, i waited to post what happened till we stripped the engine down, today was that day. This was at about 730bhp EDIT.. I had gear dependant boost and was only running 1.3 bar in 6th gear, about 600bhp in top gear i guess. Lee is getting me some pics. I know you hear stories of these engines running 1000bhp on stock internals but this is real use on a 50,000 mile engine, not one run on a dyno. 1 mile events have killed two engines for me now, cant see me doing another tbh.

  10. Yeah, them runners are just anodized id say, left mine billet and polished the plenum.
  11. Very much a risk buying secondhand id say, most have been removed for a reason.

  14. Ive not seen any relocation kit myself, mine is just moved to the top of the bay with a couple of longer hoses.
  15. StuartW removed his from his drag car, i never asked him what its like at low speed.
  16. I went Hypertune, Lee told me it looks much better quality than the VWR.
  17. Yeah menu and garage layout is crap compared to the old one.
  18. Its getting really good now, racing a 800bhp R35 GTR in the expert on level 15 now.
  19. Yeah, been thinking of growing a beard, must have it real bad i guess.
  20. Seems i have lost it because it is being mounted as we talk.
  21. Its not mounted, just sat on top of my TRD. Yeah, i might put some chrome wheels on it and really fuck it up;)
