  1. Sorry to read this, once setup correctly a small single supra will be a reliable toy. Maybe try and find a stock engine long block , bung that in for now. Triple plates are normally light so I very much doubt it has anything to do with using the clutch on start up, as far I was aware you only had to watch out when using the heavy duty single plate clutches. But as James says, it's not a good habit to get into.
  2. Awesome, love the vin plate also.
  3. It's been a long road, you can't give up now Mike.
  4. With twin open wastegates like on our cars, I doubt you would ever hear the turbo, if I had recirc wastegates then I'd like that. Edit.. I just watched the videos, it is loud.
  5. I'd sell anything for the right offer
  6. I do feel for you, seems the car is cursed. In the long run, I bet it would work out cheaper sending the car to the uk, get the right company working on it, a supra specialist that works on these cars evey day, fix all issues and road test for a couple of weeks before you collect.
  7. Great numbers Mike, look forward to seeing it
  8. On open housings I'd agree 1.00 max
  9. Even on divided housings? if so that surprises me.
  10. That's a bigger turbo, we are talking about 62mm and pump fuel
  11. 1.00 will be ok, I've got a 1.00ar on my 6266 but i wish I went 1.15. On a stock engine and 1.8 bar, pump fuel I made 580bhp. I think that would would have done 600 with the bigger housing.
  12. German Dax is looking really tempting to short right now, never been so high. What do people think?
  13. Remember, if its divided then its a lot more restrictive than undivided, so you normally go slightly bigger, for 600bhp id say thats a bit small.
  14. I wonder if I could change my centres to them, classics are a pita to clean.
  15. Best thing to do, if you see a car you like, put a link to it in this thread, i will give you my honest opinion. if you find anything local to me (beaconsfield) and im not busy, im happy to have a look with you.
  16. VVTI is a lot more lively off boost, feels like a high comp NA when not on boost, turbo will spool up faster, all round better car. wife will be fine driving it, if you have a boost controller you could turn the power down
  17. If its a well setup car, built by a respected trader then go for it i say, lots of bodged cars out there built with ebay parts so be careful. Id still try and get a VVTI for the response in town. stock auto box is good for 550ish bhp.
  18. Middle of London and using it as a daily, id get a nice clean VVTI triptronic, BPU supra.
  19. I don't think you would go wrong with either way, if you go cast buy a decent one though. I would go Whifbitz/SRD manifold, they have never been known to crack to date. I read people say the cast manifold cars don't sound good, I've no experience of that though, just going by what i read on the forums.
  20. Should be ok unless you have a facelift with the small diff, donut normally fails if the wheels lock up. thats whats happened every time ive broke a diff. trouble is the prop can then swing about, damaged the floor and took out the handbrake cables on me the last time.
