The 'sweet spot' is more to do with the setup than the outright power imho, two cars can have similar power but one can be so much faster than the other, crappy laggy turbo and poor choice of supporting mods will see you far behind a well thought out high end setup.

High quality 62-64mm turbo max'd out with good supporting mods is best fun imo, as others mention you need a good quality wheel/tyre/brake/suspension setup to make the most of it. With the way these small turbos make the good power these days even a 67mm turbo is to laggy for me now.

Nice to see it back together. Out of interest how many miles has the car done? I only ask as you say it's still on the same pads it had from when its was driven round the ring, I'm guessing it's low milage?

The 4.5" PHR exhaust is a custom built exhaust, they don't keep on the shelf. Will be expensive I'm betting an all. If you want loud, any of the 4" exhausts will be good HKS/Boostlogic/ETS/Whifbitz

Gearbox out to do RMS, again I wouldn't bother, Wire an oil pressure sensor into the syvecs. You can set all the warnings on your toucan Mike.

I wouldn't bother doing the head gasket myself, Now you know the engine looks to be ok, I'd just do the oil pump and seal if the crank nose looks ok. I'd also change the water pump and put new belts on it if they haven't been done in a while.

Maybe worth doing rod bolts if your taking the sump off. Not sure on your power goals though.

Fixed the rear lights, was a problem with the fog light wiring shorting them out.
