  1. Good luck with the car tomorrow and let us know how you get on, whats the spec? what dyno are you going on? Jamie.
  2. The thread is about comparing different dyno results. Not the sort of reply I expected tbh, I only asked out of interest, the way you spoke of running a good 1/4 time I thought you must be well into it and I was interested in your times.
  3. What 1/4 times have you laid down?
  4. I think the gates open at 6am, I'm sure it says on the website.
  5. Interesting, maybe these dynapack numbers are about right then going on Kims and Glenn's results.
  6. You are both talking about different things, Paul means the one under the car, which would be tricky to make i suspect.
  7. If them numbers are correct an audi TT (quattro) 180bhp would only have 70bhp at the wheels?
  8. Yeah i see what you mean about it sitting on top, the straps are not holding the car down on the dynojet, just stopping the car moving forwards or backwards. Just for the record I'm not trying to disrepute anyones results with this thread, I'm doing myself just as much damage as anyone else just thought it would be an interesting topic.
  9. I know what you mean about the strapping, ive seen it make a big difference myself at srr, is that strapping any different than people running on a dynojet have to deal with? ive never been on a dynojet. I need to try and get over to bigcc's dynojet before i put the car away for the winter.
  10. Cheers guys, yeah got skinnies for the front and they cover my brembos.
  11. Sounds about right but its so hard to compare especially when you are talking different dynos in different parts of the world, maybe im miles off, i dont know, pity your car had problems today, would have been nice to see how the two dynapack dynos compared.
  12. How can they know? what was the hp difference and what losses did they use to work out they are right with his engine dyno results?
  13. Its hard to say they over read or tar Dan with that brush, its been proven Dan's and TDI's dyno are almost spot in in there readings, Also Dan/TDI dont give fwhp readings, none of the hub dynos will give you a fwhp reading, us customers are converting the numbers. But id say you are about right on the numbers, i think the rhhp numbers these dynos give out are pretty close to fwhp.
  14. Depends what you compare it to, IMO SRR is pretty much spot on but most likely reads lower than any other dyno we use, its just not great for very high bhp cars due to traction issues.
  15. No, you are getting dynapack and dyno dynamics mixed up.
  16. Its an drivetrain loss estimate that some dynos such as SRR use to give you a fwhp figure.
  17. SRR is a dyno dynamics rolling road, yanks call it the "heart breaker" http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?631290-PT7175-on-pump-meth-and-Q16-tuned-by-Ben-Phillips TDI is a rototest which seems to be spot on with Dan's dynapack
  18. I could not be bothered with the hassle tbh mate. That will be good to see.
  19. I think Lee finished off the car tonight, ive not heard the exhaust yet, i did buy a sheet of titainium the other day so my fabricator can make me a slip on tube to replace the back box for when i want to be loud
  20. Cheers Rob, no im not going to sell the T4 setup, i wont be fitting the T6 kit till i go 3.4L and that wont be fitted till the engine i have now gets tired, im just collecting the parts for now.
  21. Now, Im the first to say a dyno is just a tool for mapping the car but i do find it interesting reading up on how they all compare power results. After my thread on supraforums about the power I made with my car on a 76mm turbo i have been reading a lot of dyno threads, nobody seems to get near that power for the boost I was running on dynojet dynos, I know Ryan is a legend but can he really be that much better? maybe. I know myself and others have claimed to add 15% to these rhhp figures to get the estimated fwhp, We all love the big power figures but Im not sure thats right anymore, I have a feeling these rhhp figures we are getting are infact closer to to fwhp than we think, unless somebody can show me different? I found this an interesting thread, read post 20 where it compares dynojet to dynapack. http://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/1339390-dynojet-dynomite-dyno-comparison-2011-cts-v-coupe.html I have to say i think these rhhp numbers from dynapack/rototest are pretty much spot on flywheel figures. 22. Nice buy that for 2 grand, looking forward to pictures.
  23. Cheers, Ive not tested the chute yet, i need to mount the release handle in the car and find a quiet road.
  24. There is a plastic eye at the front, can you use a bungee on it and connect under the car? never had this problem with mine but then mine is parked right up against the fence.
