  1. Thanks Jamie and Sam for Thumbs up - big decision for this paint job - took ages to find the right colour / finish then a tops painter. The people who have seen it in the sun like it. If you like black this is something very special. Jamie and few sup owners are up for prof photo shoot in Jan and hopefully we can get some crackin pics of Jamie's new motor, mine and others up for the crack:d Cheers Jonty
  2. Great to see u at Turbo fit - it's going to be a gem Jamie and the engine build from am to pm fast - u on speed! Thanks for the advice re Intercooler plate will fit. See U at Ace in the beast! did u sleep over with yur bed roll last night [GRIN][/GRIN]
  3. Where I used to live they poured paint striper over the cars - I was lucky - crazy world! Don't think I'll be leavin it in town. Same for all of us me thinks. Thanks for thumbs up! Jonty
  4. You going to Sherburn on Tuesday night? Will get it polished in the New Year - got a photo op with Jamie P's car in London in a couple of weeks. Be great to see what the photo's come out like - cheers Jonty Like the Xmas hat - must be very big in reality - how do you keep it on the car at 10XXXX leptons:d
  5. Here is where to get them - give them a ring 19" wheels / tyres - great handling proper spacers etc http://www.vogueinternational.co.uk/ Cheers Jonty
  6. Today there is a storm in Harrogate - torents of rain and a 18 knot wind - sorry we didn't achieve autogylm finish it's winter! As I live on a farm keeping clean is a bloody challenge, so here is to the summer and less washing If you've got j tuner Dec 2006 issue my car is featured on page 129-132 with some great pics - before the re-spray and wheel changes
  7. Chris does not have a web site of his own - best number to reach him is his mobile Chris Gregory Tele 07773 323395 He is located at the addresss below http://www.hhctvr.co.uk/service/ Chris has an arragement where is able to repaint all cars apart from any TVR which has to go through drive style - this mean you can deal directly with Chris and get a great price - good luck Aftersales Centre: Lime Street, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 4BG Tel: 01423 561666 Fax: 01423 507321
  8. Knight Racer do a great job - this is where I would have had the job done, Jamie had his done recently. However having found Chris by accident made sense to go local. The TVR colour schemes are now so complicated that the re-spay and repair quality has to be top notch. Chris is excllent at candy schemes and anything else you might fancy. He also can do custom graphics. In the spray booth he had Ferrari 575 Maranello and Maserati 4200 - he's doing top gear.. He's very competitve for the standard. £3K was for complete job, labour and paints etc no extras added on the bill. The job involved everything coming off the car spoliers, windscreen out windows etc to ensure best job - he defo delivered. Polishing is the next job which will really bring out the pearl coat. If your into Black this paint is ace defo reco! Cheers Jonty
  9. The spangly top coat was most probably laid over a base coat (black). So one litre would be enough to put one coat over the whole car. Also i'm guessing, laquered to seal it up. Yep you got it - these are the layers applied to the car. 1 Litre top coat pearl effect then laquered to finish off. Thanks for the tumbs up guys Will be at Turbo Fit w.c. 11th so might see some of you then Jonty
  10. I've been looking for a super looking black for my supra for about 12 months. The I meet Chris (Paint Sprayer) at a TVR track day with his Cerb in a wonderful pearl black....my search was over, I found the ideal black. I asked him how much and the deal was done. Car is going to enter some competitions next year - should be interesting to see how she does [/GRIN] If you want a top quality paint job, defo try Chris Gregory Tele 07773 323395 fantastic workmanship and attention to detail. The black pearl top coat nearly £1,000 per litre - however the impact when the sun shines on the black paint is stunning. Photo's don't do justice. Highly recommended. Chris is based in Harrogate North Yorkshire - Cheers Jonty[GRIN] /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
  11. Nearly as good as mine:p It will be a stormer! Just wondering about the 1000 miles run in - there won't be one lead foot[GRIN][/GRIN] I really don't think you'll be able to go much faster with NOS on the bike and on the car! You have changed my base line again:search: Now I need to start again! All the best mate Jonty
  12. Interior looking fab mate! Got some good ideas for my new sterring wheel etc. Speak later Jonty
  13. If you go to my garage you'll see the dyno print out and the spool rev curves etc - cheers Jonty
  14. Thanks for the thumbs up:) Interesting that of all my cars and I've driven loads, M3, Porsche turbo, noble etc the Supra wins! Why you might ask? It has deep down soul/passion that no other car I have driven comes close. I sold the Noble to buy the Supra - then invested loads to sort it out[sHOCK][/sHOCK] - great car - defo Supra nut! Cheers Jonty
  15. I would ensure proper fitment. Mine just been fitted by Vogue in Brum - superb job and great deals on wheel and tyre combo's plus they have sale on depending on what your looking for. Their web site http://www.vogueinternational.co.uk/home.html If you look at my garage you'll see the wheels just fitted good luck Jonty
  16. Just been looking at your garage - Nice motor Be great if you have a T78 / T88 meet. I am in Harrogate. U get to Sherbun first Tuesday of the month. Power at the wheels 690 bhp exactly. All the engine work detailed in the Garage section - most of it new. Please get in touch if you want specs and who did wot etc no probs. Hope to meet up soon u can have a ride see wot it's like. Always pays to drive the car u want to build, before you do it as some people don't like the drive characteristics and get transfixed on power not driveability- depends wot u want. Cheers Jonty
  17. The T78 was already installed when I bought it from GT Cars about a year ago. Didn't know what the condition of the turbo was at the time. As part of the TJ rebuild they rebuilt the turbo unit and fully serviced it as general wear and tear would impact boost and performance. Now like brand new and delivering 100% Believe turbo fit can fit T78 / T88 - u can import from USA and directly from Japan cheaper. You wll need the exact fittings etc. Alternatively they can source the part for u. T78 is bit less laggy than T88 - however having been in Jamie P T88 it is fantastic and makes more power. Defo recommend these turbo units. Please get in touch if want more info - cheers Jonty PS wot is great about these units is that u can drive around town like a normal car then when you want extreme power in comes in higher up and the cars go mental - VERY!
  18. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=big&p=4308 Great job and all hides away - keeping my boot space and spare wheel:)
  19. Thanks for all the support and reco's plus advice etc. Think you are my Supra street coach!!!!!! Really looking forward to seeing your major project completed too. Sure Turbo Fit will deliver something very special. Cheers Jonathan
  20. I am amazed at the fuel econ at 200 miles plus per tank of V-Power 240 miles from Harrogate to London no probs and that's not hangin around - some pics today http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=441
  21. Big thanks to Tim, Ike and Richard at Tuning Japanese for their excellent quality workmanship and indepth knowledge on high performance Supras. This team worked dam hard to make this project deliver, it has! My car now delivers 700 bhp and drives fantastic. It has been worth the wait 4 months to get this result. Given it's a 450 mile return trip to TJ it had to be worth it Defo has:) Also wanted to thank Envy boys for the supply of all my engine internals and HKS bits. Great prices and 24 hr turn around![GRIN][/GRIN] Whale done on ur recent run - great video! Guys at Vogue International for sorting our my wheels and tyres - passionate about alloys. They know exactly what they are doing and cured some vibrations just by knowing how to fit the wheels properly to Supra cars New wheels just arrived in the UK Supreme 19's if interested Chris Gregory - the Ultimate Custom Car spray man - Chris is starting work on my car this weekend - 3 weeks to prepare and finish to something very special - of course she will be black. Defo recommend him as he is TVR top paint man and I am sure you've seen all those crackin pearls and candy paint jobs I've feel as though I've done a mini MBA in Supra rebuilding. The forum has been fastic source of ideas, support , info and banter - thanks guys Thanks to Jamie P for keeping me going as I suffered Supra withdrawl over the 4 months and missed taking the Supra on the Canon Ball run Europe. Sorry guys had to take the Volvo instead -however the master stoke was beating the Porsche boys as we won the first stage - u guessed it in a Volvo:blink: Next year Supra revenge!
  22. It is interesting to review all the comments posted and Chris thanks for your post and version of events. There is no point in progressing this as we can all go around in circles. For what its worth... It is clear that many owners have had a very postive expereince with Hypersports. Chris/Stewart good lads etc. You have had competent work completed all smiles - Great. Occassionally sometimes it doesn't work out. When I picked my car up all seemed ok intially apart from the hunting idle etc. However the issues started from there in and were uncovered durning the complete strip down. I would also agree with Chris that one tuner vs. another is an impossible situation and understand this - there will always be different ways of doing things. Final analysis is that this specific program of development did not work and deliver in this case, there were a number of very specific faults. If you have had a great expereince with Hypersports I am really pleased and u should continue based on proof of delivery.
  23. Very interesting guys - I had a recent disaster with this company and had £5K work done (completely wasted). Here are the problems:- 1000cc Injectors miss fitted with leaks - incorrect fitting Intank fuel pump fitted botched welding - fuel cut off disabled - in the event of crash I would have been a goner!!!! - they did this to improve the fuel pressure delivery wow! Fuel system completely messed up - u should see the photos! Ignition packs faulty Fuel pressure switch damaged Gauge sendors damaged by mechanic Engine mapping - tried to complete via hand controller without proper software - they called other tuners for help!!!! Dyno testing to extreme without cooling equipment installed - not good as this overheats your engine internals Hunting idle - not corrected for £5K wow! Over tight the external waste gates causing more probelms Fitted super SQV dump vale so it ingested water - very smart They could not fix their own demo supra clutch probelms Check out the state of the garage and this should tell you alot about the quality and care re: engine rebuild disapline I have just had to fork out £13K to put right the damage and rebuild the engine!!! Guys be very very careful wot you have done. Think they are good at basic mechs - however I would never go to them for engine rebuild, mapping etc. They overclaim wot they can deliver. I do not want you guys going through this little lot - not pleasant. There are more competent tuners to go for! You have no come back whatsoever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Delighted to say my car has been in intesive care for 4 months and came back last week - now 700 bhp at the wheels and a dream. Took it to Shell Stanlow today - home of V-Power - the boys at Shell well impressed - however no free tank of petrol!
