  1. Hello Again!! I popped over to see Steve L last night armed with an XL T-Shirt just to see how it measured up! Looked like it would swamp his nimble frame but actually wasn't that far off the mark! Subsequent to which he has changed his order from Medium to Large. I think these Fruit of the Loom sizes are on the small side personally so would suggest people go up a size from their normal choice i.e large = XL XL = 2XL medium = large etc. I will have a fair few extras on the day so can always change them but worth a thought! Thanks again and please keep the feedback coming as it helps me out with getting things organised! PM's start today so hopefully I can start getting the merchandise made!! Thanks again, Pete
  2. Hey All, Just to clarify the prices on the T-Shirts and brollies for those interested: T-Shirts = £6 per shirt (not bad considering these are hand applied not machined and the T-Shirt is Fruit of the Loom) Umbrella = £15 per brollie (These are the golf sized ones and again have the Supra vinyl applied by hand but are very nice with carbon handle etc) I seem to be a few short on replies (like 20 odd! ) so will be sending a PM to those not on the list in the next day or two. STILL trying to get some prices from Pete at Thor for the hub dyno runs! Geez it's tough getting to him! a VERY busy guy! Will update you all as things develop and if any of those keeping an eye on this thread have contact with those yet to respond can you give them a shout for me please!! As explained the last thing I want is people going without food or t-shirts/umbrella's!! These things need some preparation!! Thanks again all and see you in 6 weeks(ish!) Pete
  3. A quick update: 7 responses down, 21 to go!!! Looks like i'll be PM'ing a fair few next week!! Anyways, Hopefully those of you who buy J-Tuner will have noticed the letter I submitted to Steve Chalmers (Scary Steve to the old skool FastCar readers!!) who gave this event a nice spot in the letters section (page 39) for anyone not on the forum who wants to attend. I'm still waiting to hear back from Pete at Thor about the dyno but we will need a minimum of 10 power runs I would imagine to get them to join us. After some discussion with my cooks the general opinion is to scrap the chicken legs as they take ages and are in need of constant attention and stick with the burgers and hotdogs. I will also probably try to get some nice juicy steaks if I can get them for a fair price!! (don't suppose we have a butcher in the club who could help out do we?!). Keep the feedback coming guys and I'll keep you all updated on any developments. Thanks again! Pete
  4. Just a 2p addition!! If you check out this month's J-Tuner you'll notice coverage of another one of our Supe's in there. If you then read the text you'll find he suffered a major engine meltdown on a low mileage vehicle just because the removal of the CAT's and the downpipe and probably the induction kit changed enough to cause issues. My point is it doesn't matter how trivial a mod you do it makes sense to take it easy until you have a chance to get the car re-mapped and change any air/fuel issues the part may cause. You don't hear much about engine failures on these I agree but the principal of how they can fail this way makes sense to me. As I said just my opinion. Pete
  5. Cheers Adam so far then we have: 1. Peter P 2. Adam Ideally looking for a minimum of 3 please guys and girls! The event is running from approx 12pm to 4pm and we have now been added to the fliers and given a separate pitch to set the cars up. Would be a good opportunity to meet a few of you and maybe convince you to attend the Wendens Ambo Meet i'm hosting down in Elmdon which is only an hour and a bit from Birling/Kent. At the end of the day, the kids will really enjoy something like this and it may help convince them that Ferrari and Porsche aren't necessarily the only cool fast performance cars!! I may be able to convince Steve L to join me but I think he has a BBQ that day! Saturday 1st July - 12 till 4pm Let me know please guys and girls! Cheers, Pete
  6. I've also had both (admittedly the R33 GTS-T not the GTR) but would say they are very different cars. The Skyline has a more current pedigree to the Supra (although no longer in GT class so much as replaced by the 350z) it's history is FULL of racing victories and there are more variations all as capable as the early R32 generation. What I will say though is the engines whether it be the RB25 or RB26(pistons mainly) on the Skyline is a weaker unit from factory than the 2JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GE units. I wanted to get 450bhp from the Skyline and was told I would need a complete bottom end rebuild at £7K to handle the power yet the Supe will have nearer to 600bhp with stock internals/bottom end once I go single. Both are awesome machines that can be made VERY fast but the Supe allows you to get far more for your money and leave the very expensive bits till later than the Skylines do. The fact the Skyline is also still made to this day (I am right there aren't I?! R35 model??) and offers 4WD and a host of other goodies may be why people choose them but it's personal preference for me! The Supe looks like a Super Car the Skyline without any of the extra frills i.e bodywork, alloys, carbon this and that is a very understated car except the R34 GTR but that is still a mega £££££ model so not really in the equation! I was put off by the need to dip into the wallet to such an extent so early into my ownership to gain an extra 100/150bhp when you can stick with the Supe internals up to 1000bhp (if you believe what some of the US boys are saying). Just my take on the two! Pete
  7. Just in case some of you are still subscribed to this thread and have missed the latest details I've supplied on the new thread I mentioned, the link for the current thread is as follows: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=66522 Please check the latest information as I am trying to get some idea of numbers for most things and would prefer to get people to post on the thread rather than having to PM everyone!! Thanks again and look forward to seeing you on the 9th July!! Pete
  8. Is this the standard or dual ball bearing version?? Sorry but it does impact the value a bit (about $700.00 dearer for the dual ball bearing version). To buy new with the good R.O.E we have with the USD it's about £2,491.29 for the standard bearing kit and £2,862.72 for the dual one (that's a rate of 1.9 $ to the £ approx). Are there any other bits included i.e FPR, bigger injectors, etc or is it the same as the details on the PHR website? See Link: http://www.powerhouseracing.com/files/catalog.php?make=Toyota&model=Supra%20TT&catagory=Single%20Turbo%20Systems Hope this is ok Terminator i'm not trying to intefer but am after the kit myself and thought these were important details/questions. Pending the sale of my Skyline I may be in touch!! Cheers, Pete
  9. Isn't it typical!!! I always seem to forget something when updating the thread!!! The only other question I need answers to is anyone wanting to camp out on the Saturday evening??? As mentioned I can join anyone who wants to but not to keen if it's just me!!!!!! Let me know please guys & girls!! If anyone wants kids t-shirts can they PM me with sizes as I may be able to get this sorted as well. Cheers, Pete
  10. Cheers guys for the latest input, will wait to hear from anyone needing to clear it with the missus etc!! Right it's crunch time so I need to know how you all want me to play this!! I now need to know the number of people in attendance, whether you would like t-shirt(s) and what sizes you want, what eating requirements you may have if not happy with burgers, hot-dogs, chicken legs etc and if you want a power run from the boys at Thor. If I don't start seeing any responses on this thread then as much as it pains me to do it, i'll have to start PM'ing you one by one to get the feedback I need. This isn't unreasonable IMHO as I need to get the groundwork sorted out ASAP to insure we all have a great day and without these details it'll be hit and miss which I don't want (hopefully you all agree with me on that?!). I'll kick off: 1. Peter P - Just me - 5 x T-Shirts (XL) - No special eating requirements - Interested in power run dependent on cost. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. And so on. Sorry if you find this a nuisance but it really is the only way to do it and make sure everyone gets what they want out of the day. Will leave this 2 weeks from today and then start PM'ing anyone who hasn't responded. Thanks again and if you have any problems, drop me a PM or post up here and i'll get back to you ASAP. Cheers, Pete
  11. BELIEVE ME - I thought of this and reckon the barbed-wire fence, security guards and the Rotties will be enough discouragemnt!! No seriously, I can try to get a section cut-off with some rope or tape to prevent anyone getting to close for comfort!! Pete
  12. Hey All, Seems the right region for this!! On 1st July (will confirm the date but pretty sure that's the one!) the local school near my bro in Birling, Kent is having an open day and he suggested a few Supra's attend to give the kids something to look at! Probably only be for a few hours but would be great to show the kids what a REAL performance car looks like!! I'll supply better details once I have a chance to catch up with him but just wondered if I could count on any of you to help out? Should be a bit of fun and would look superb in contrast to the usual toot at these kinda things!!! Let me know please guys & girls!! Cheers, Pete
  13. Hi M8, I think your reffering to 'true twin' as opposed to seqential which is the normal setup. There have been a few threads on this topic you could search but in summary the 'true twin' mode is a switch mounted in the dash that enables you to get both tubbies spooling together at the expense of some low down pick-up (that's what I found anyway!). To be honest, in my humble opinion, the conversion doesn't net any real gains and is more of a pain in the a@s than anything!! I'll be removing mine when the single conversion is done. Paul Whiffin mapped my E-Manage and couldn't detect much difference between the two settings and wasn't familiar with them as most of the cars he sees don't have them fitted. Your choice but I would try to get along to an owners meet and see if someone with the conversion will take you for a spin! May be better spending the money on something elsa that can net you a few more ponies! Just my 2p worth! Pete

  15. Hopefully if the event goes as i'm planning it'll be one for the calendar and may be repeated every year! As I said it's not everyday you can go to a meet chat with other members, get a dyno run, good BBQ grub and a pint or three, a t-shirt to mark the occasion and a chance to win a few goodies on the raffle!!!!! Plus, camping the night before if your that way inclined and a good hearty breakfast prepared by the landlady for a minimal charge!!! (we call her fry up 'heart attack on a plate'!!!! ). Anyone who's attended any of the big shows will know how hard it is to get a dyno run due to the huge crowds and number of people waiting where as with this if your interested in seeing what power you've got it's 99% sure you can do it! (pending enough initial interest to make it worthwhile getting Thor to come). Gone are the days of sitting in the car in Tesco's carpark with pouring rain and a cold sarny and an orange juice!! (sounds like a school trip!) The other most valuable thing is this is a charity event and that's enough said really! So come on peeps sign up,sign up and be part of the 2006 Wendens Ambo Meet!!
  16. It's a FAMILY orientated pub!!! Maybe a delayed start is in order?! Pete
  17. Smarty, Postcode as requested: CB11 4JN Apologies for the delay in getting back to you!! I trust that EVERYONE who has said they will attend is subscribed to this thread?? Just that no one has added anything to date and it's a little tricky trying to organise things for everyone when I don't know what you are looking to do one the day?! Can I get a list of those interested in getting a dyno session please (prices will be posted once known and this is NOT obligatory if you put down your name!!): 1. Peter P 2. Just copy and paste the above and add your name please boys and girls. Also, who wants a T-Shirt or 10?! They will be costing £6 each and a demo will be getting posted asap for people to see. Just need to know approx numbers and sizes for now. More to follow but please can you POST something, ANYTHING to stop me thinking this is for my benefit and no one is reading it!!!! Thanks, Pete
  18. Being a past Zed owner I'd say thats way too expensive!!! The SWB with the Manual is the most sort after variant due to the better performance but still wouldn't want one with the mileage you mentioned. I would recommend having a chat with a good m8 of mine Ryan at Ztech who does work on these and only these and is the nicest bloke you could ask for! Seriously, he will give you some top buying advise and may even know a good car that's available at present and put you in touch with them. His Details are: Tel: 01672 541 500 Web: http://www.ztech.co.uk By all means mention me and tell him I suggested you call. Owned both a UK and J-Spec TT but both were 2+2 Auto's. If you need anything elsa give me a shout. Cheers, Pete

  20. Does anyone know someone who could fabricate the parts needed?? Just need an idea of cost and what's involved. Cheers, Pete
  21. Hi M8, No worries i'll get the postcode sorted today and stick it up ASAP! The general area is Wendens Ambo which is just after Newport (the Essex one not the Welsh one!!! ) near Saffron Walden. I'm going to sort out the directions for everyone nearer the time and post up the different approaches people need but will get the postcode for anyone who wants it. Latest on the Dyno =============== - I spoke at length with Peter from Thor yesterday afternoon and he's working out some prices for us. He reckoned a maximum of 12 power runs on the day as they need time for setting it all up and dismantling it at the end of the day plus, it's the type that connects to the hubs so takes a bit longer to setup but gives more accurate results. Peter may even bring the Thor project Supra along! see here: http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/THORThunder-191.asp Which would be intersting to see!! I will post the prices up once known but can anyone interested PM me to confirm your interest (Obviously I can't ask Peter to pack all the gear up, drive 2 hours to the location, unpack and set all the gear up and then no one does a power run!!). I know I personally would love to see Paul Whiffin's beasty scream it's nuts off and find out what kinda power it's packing and Thor are the guys to do the job!! (just did the Envy Supra so the equipment is up to the job!) They operate as a 4 man team (those hub monitors weigh 1/2 tonne apparently! ) and are professionals as some of you will know if you've used them before so cars will be well cared for. Let me know please peeps! Cheers, Pete
  22. Good news!!!! I e-mailed Steve Chalmers at J-Tuner who has included a letter in Issue 14 promoting our little meet! He also would love to do a feature and will let me know once he's spoken to the rest of the team. Provided the weather holds out (today is NOT a good sign!! ) we should have a great turnout of classy Supe's with a smattering of other top Jap Marques as well! I'm going to get in touch with Thor today regarding the dyno but notice no one has really expressed any views on whether they would want to use this?? If not, it's unfair to get someone on site for nothing so can we please start some numbers for power runs to give me an indication on possible demand. I'm also organising the T-Shirts at the moment which will be a fairly simple design but will mark the occasion and at £5 will be a nice memento! Any more for any more?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?! All the best and i'll keep you all posted! Cheers, Pete

For anyone wanting to come down on the Saturday, I'll camp out with you guys to keep you company!! Picked up a very reasonable 2-man tent yesterday so will be good to give it some use!! There will be breakfast available Sunday morning in the pub and it'll be open till midnight for a few drinks, pool darts etc!! Let me know if your interested please guys and gals! I should add it'll be a £10 donation to start with and that covers the first burger, hotdog etc and starts the charity collection. Still coming up with events, prizes etc but any input will be more than welcome!!! Looking good but we can handle double the number of current attendees!!!! So please keep them coming!!! Will be a great day and a good chance to meet other like minded owners. Thanks again, Pete
