Hey Guys, I've got a problem with my drivers door in that although it's closed properly, the warning light and door light keep coming on round corners etc! I had a look and basically, the bit of black straight edged hard plastic attached to the door itself has been bodged at some point with a soft rubber strip and that now has the indent of the button bit of the unit in so i'm guessing it's not getting the pressure to keep it in properly hence the warning light! If anyone has this bit on a drivers door lying around or is going to a breakers anytime soon can you PM me please? Not sure on what these are worth but willing to go to say £10/20 if necessary. All the best, Pete
-
Just to add this comes with the additional brake master cylinder stopper/support thingy! (nice and technical! ). All PM's replied to and provisionally sold pending a response! Cheers, Pete

Awesome mate I'll look forward to it!! You gonna tell me beforehand or do I have to wait till the big day as you know I HATE suprises!!

Really glad 2 hear it Rob mate and look at it like I did, at least when the recon or rebuilt lump is in there you can sit back assured every box has been ticked and that the setup is as strong as it possibly can be! I saw your car when I picked mine up and must say I think your old car (now mine!) versus your current car when it's all good will be a contest to go in the history books mate!! The spool up on mine is breath taking though so it'll be great to put it through it's paces against another single conversion with the autobox as well to see how they get on!! As I said Rob your a great guy and just like me you've had a crappy run of it lately with your car but when it gets fixed the single experience will put such a grin on your face you will forget all the hassles and be on cloud 9!!! :d Chin up and keep me posted on progress as I may need to make enquiries about NOS if it gets serious!! All the best mate, Pete

First like to say feel for you Robert, you and I know each other somewhat better than most as I bought my Supe from you back in January. I don't want to start any pissing contests etc but anyone implying Paul is responsible or his work was the cause of Rob's engine going bang should think very carefully before sticking any knives in. Paul has been looking after my car since I bought it from Robert and I had my engine diagnosed with a bottom end knock at Ace Cafe a month or so back. I've only had it 7 months and done a maximum of 500 miles if that since then and get told it was rebuild or recon engine time! To say I was heart broken would be a major understatement and I left the meet early as I was so pissed off!! Robert will vouch for this but I haven't once complained to him about the car or blamed him for what happened nor would I as it's a very real risk we all take owning high performance machines under such high pressures and tolerances. Paul has just finished installing my re-con engine and single conversion and done all the mapping on it and it really is a piece of art! The quality of work has NEVER dissappointed me and I ALWAYS go to Paul for work and ALWAYS will. Anyone who thinks otherwise that's your business but don't start trying to stir shit up for nothing and try to taint the reputation of one of the longest standing, well known and respected tuners this forum has to offer. Rob mate your a smashing bloke and we had a really nice chat when we met to do the sale on my Supe and when I collected the oil cooler from you and we chat via threads a lot at the moment which is awesome! This is shitty luck and has hit you hard i'm sure as you were really looking forward to going single and getting it ready for our drag race!! I think YOU have handeled this really well as I'd expect from you and I think you know how professional Paul is when it comes to tuning and doing work on cars and he is very honest and forward with the condition of things, your engine was by the sounds of things similar to mine in that when I got it from you we didn't think anything was wrong but it turned out to be sick and on it's last legs and you had compression tested it just prior to me buying it from memory and it was totally fine, the point is, you've had a crap break but I know you will bounce back and get it sorted and also that Paul will give you any help you need including a good price on a recon lump and fitting as he did for me when my world fell apart. Tough break mate and if I can help in any way or you want to talk about it you can always ring me. Really feel for you mate but to the hecklers, leave it out!!! All the best, Pete

if you click on the link in my avatar it goes to my car on the Whifbitz website, scroll down to the engine bay pic bottom left and open it to see the strutbrace in all it's glory! Cheers, Pete
-
May be the case but I think the Tein looks nicer! Seem slightly more solid and chunky as well?! Cheers, Pete
-
Hi Guys, Well I've just got the car back with my new single setup and decided I wanted the Tein strut braces instead of the Carbing one! This WILL clear the EDFC motors (joe aka Gamer has this on his car) and is only being sold as I prefered the look of the Tein ones!!! These are £200ish new and given it's used with a small scratch here and there, looking for £100 + delivery or can be collected if preffered. Cheers, Pete

Big thank you to Lui for the organising and jamiep for showing us the pics. Is this now in the newsagents then or just for subscription peeps?! Sure I was looking for it on Friday and couldn't find the latest one!! May be able to get it tommorrow as my old newsagent where I used to live gets all 3 still from when I asked them to get it in!! Nice pic of mine and Steve L's black beasties and one of my engine bay as well!!! Going up in the world 2 pics of me in 2 months!!!! Was in the shot with Steve Chalmers at the J-Tuner stand in the feature on the Japshow as well!! Well chuffed! Thanks again guys was a great night out despite finding out my bottom end was knocking!! Cheers, Pete

Could be fun Robert mate. Just keen to see how it turns out HP wise as for the money it'll be a very tempting kit for those wanting to go single on limited budgets! I'll wait for the finished article and let Paul decide if it's something he wants to sell and keep a running commentary iro reliabilty etc to compare with some of the other kits i.e ebay etc! I've always been very impressed with the quality and workmanship Whifbitz have done so far so wouldn't expect to be dissappointed! Can't wait to hear that wastegate chatter!! :d Pete
-
Can I play at the Japshow Finale provided it's all finished and running as it should be?! Then you'd have J-Spec single, UK TT BPU and UK single!! Not sure how mine will turn out but currently in with Paul Whiffin for the work which centers around a Garrett GT35R with the stock UK 550cc injectors and no FPR. Just getting the finishing touches and a bigger FMIC fitted before the mapping phase so hoping for sometime next week to collect it!! Might be interesting to see how it measures up for fun of course! Pete

Welcome aboard!! Well done on the upgrade to a REAL car (we've all gone down similar roads!) at 21 you've beaten my record in some respects (got my 300zx TT at 19) and I don't blame you on the comment about never wanting to sell it! Don't think there is a single car I can think of that offers such incredible performance out of the box and is as tuneable as a Supe for the money!! You've found the right place as well for mods, general advice and anything elsa Supe related! Doubt you'll be keeping it stock for long!! Well done again and all the best with it. Cheers, Pete
-
Thanks for that Andy. Nice to know i'm not alone in thinking these really do suit the Supe and look the danglies!!! Best of luck with the sale of the car and the swop or sale of these gorgeous rims!! Pete

Andy, Any particular reason for the change?? Only reason I ask is i'm looking to get a set of these for mine soon to replace the older Mania Pacific's my car came with which look tired now (stupid plastic stone thingies have broken or fallen out as someone along the line curbed these A LOT!! ). Just wondered if it was a personal style preference type thing?! They look sweet as on a Supe (see the inside front cover of any recent J-Tuner) and are a good value alloy I reckon! PM me if you want to save hi-jacking the thread mate. All the best and good luck with the swap/sale. Pete
-
Buy it Kevin!! I did and have had good use out of it already + lent it to some mates who thought it was great!! A worthy addition to anyones collection IMHO. Cheers, Pete

No worries James, will let you know. Cheers, Pete

Kind words indeed Steve! Cheque in the post m8! I can confirm however this are provisionally sold. Thanks for the interest though guys. All the best, Pete

I'm not entirely sure as it was an estimate Paul gave me. What I can say is my autobox is stock and as far as I'm aware is the original one so has covered 117,000 odd miles and coped fine. I do have a Mocal gearbox oil cooler (being a UK as well you should have one as standard, mine wasn't there for some odd reason!) but other than that no other mods to the tranny whatsoever. Paul reckons approx £350 for fitting these but depends on how easily the old stuff comes off as it can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes! The pipe J-Spec boys need will be £110 + Vat so £129.25 all inclusive. Any questions give me a shout. Cheers, Pete
-
I'll ask Paul what he can do pricewise on the fitting etc! Will get a quote for the downpipe and 1st de-cat for all you J-Spec guys as well. It is a good price as there really should be no problems with these at all no shaft play issues and were pulling like a train on my car! Especially the 2nd one! really gave a nice kick when that started spooling up! I can't offer a guarantee on them but can confirm they were working fine on mine at 1.2bar (maximum I ever used) and generated approx 450HP with the other BPU mods. Only reason for sale is I ended up with a great deal on going single thanks to Paul! Cheers, Pete
-
Just to confirm this WILL include the manifold etc just need a UK spec downpipe and first de-cat pipe which Paul Whiffin can supply if needed. Final reduction, first £300 takes it but I need this done in the next couple of days as my bill will be needing payment at Paul's!! If a stock low mileage set of UK tubbies can go for £200 with no guarantee etc then surely someone will want stage 3 hybrids that were working fine and have no shaft play for an extra £100?! Delivery would be £20 on top but that doesn't have any guarantee etc so collection from the Whifbitz workshop in Enfield would be preferable! Any takers?? Payment by bank transfer preffered (details available via PM to first confirmed offer). Cheers, Pete

Meet/BBQ - 27th August 2006, Wendens Ambo, Essex
Peter P replied to Peter P's topic in England - South East
Hi Guys there are full details including postcode etc under the other thread on the East of England section: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=76015 Trouble is we are still short in terms of numbers so am going to cancel this for now! Will try to do something earlier in the Summer next year and hope for a better turnout! Thanks for the interest though guys and sorry to let you down. All the best, Pete -
Sorry to say the cut-off has arrived and we're still pretty short in terms of numbers so gonna have to cancel this until further notice! Sorry for those who signed up but maybe we can try for early summer next year as there won't be a world cup to conflict with! Probably be something elsa though knowing my luck!!! All the best, Pete
-
Can't tell anyone too much at the moment as it's still being finalised but i'm going single using a kit Paul Whiffin is putting together for me which could be of interest as it's going to be very competitively priced!! If peeps can wait a week or two i'll be able to give some feedback on how it performs innitially and will update the thread every so often to let peeps know how it's all been running etc. Based on a GT35R but aiming for somewhere between 550-600HP with very quick spool up times. Pete
