  1. Reminds me of a London Tube map! Lol. I wouldn’t know where to start but I admire anyone who can do wiring like this, looking good Krimi.
  2. Seats look great Ric. Hopefully the fit is right for you and you’re comfortable now. Time to get out and enjoy driving it hopefully. Enjoy mate! Cheers. Pete
  3. Diff also now sold and paid for. Just the torque converter left if anyone wants it? Thanks, Pete
  4. Gearbox and selector now provisionally sold. Still have the torque converter and diff available if anyone is interested. Just let me know. Cheers. Pete
  5. Evening All, Looking to sell my Tiptronic gearbox, shifter and differential following the successful swap to a V161 6-speed manual setup. All parts were in good working order prior to the swap and were carefully removed by the guys at SRD tuning in West Sussex. Collection from SRD preferred once money has been received, but happy for buyer(s) to arrange shipping if needed or I can probably collect and bring the parts home which is Kent. - Tiptronic gearbox and torque converter. Asking £300ono. - Tiptronic shifter mechanism in good shape as shown in photos. Will take £50ono. - TT stock auto differential, believe this is currently stripped so will require a rebuild. Looking for £200obo. Trying to be fair on the prices but it’s tricky as not much for sale at the moment and we all know parts are getting hard to source. I’ll listen to sensible offers, drop me a PM. Bank transfer preferred as don’t use PayPal and I’ve been around a long time so hopefully folks can vouch for me in terms of honesty, good seller etc. Thanks for looking. Cheers. Pete
  6. Morning Guys, So car is home safely after a long weekend of driving the new to me V161. Had an event to attend in Bristol, so took a day off Friday, train to London and then a train to Haywards Heath where Ash kindly picked me up. Drove home to Kent, picked up my Wife and off we went. Got to have been at least 400 miles of driving, so nice long first drive! Clutch feels good and isn’t heavy, but stop/start driving in traffic on the motorway was a challenge. Car drove great and didn’t really falter, apart from a small idle issue when pulling to a stop (seems to dip too low and almost stall before returning to normal). Lee and the guys will check the map data for me and hopefully just a small tweak to make it perfect. Car had a good spot at the show in Bristol and attracted lots of interest, big shout out to Lee, Mike, Ash and the team at SRD for getting it done in time, just need to find some time (and a large open space!) to do some figure of eights to bed the new diff in. Cheers all.
  7. Hey Rich, Glad to hear life is back on an even keel, hopefully stays that way mate. Look forward to following your progress and seeing more updates, what are your plans for the Supra this year? Best of luck and good to hear from you. Cheers. Pete
  8. Diff all built up and proper OS Giken diff oil ready to go in. Hopefully be back in the car Tuesday.
  9. Few more photos/update from Lee. Do love seeing new hardware all layed out ready to be assembled. Hopefully rebuilt diff will go in early next week and then it’s road tests, dyno and hopefully collection.
  10. Afternoon All, Had some nice updates from Lee at SRD, gearbox is in and seems to be working well. Waiting for the rear diff currently to come back from being refurbished so the OS Giken can be fitted etc. New rev counter installed with out the cut out for Auto/Tiptronic and also new Yaris steering wheel without paddles. Nice new leather 6-speed knob and also gaiter and surround done. The new pedals are sort of installed as the throttle pedal won’t work on my DBW throttle pedal which is flat. Thankfully the guys have said if I trace the pedal they will add it to their to-do list so others in the future can also get covers if they need them. Clutch plate was a little more worn than I’d have hoped, but will do for now. RPS triple going in next time which will handle any/all power needs in the future. Unfortunately car won’t be ready for JapFest on Sunday, shame as I was part of the 30yr Supra Anniversary tribute. Still, coming along nicely.
  11. Lol, thanks Krimi. Strip down begins! Hopefully have some more photos and updates from Lee P and the team at SRD to share with you guys. Will keep you posted.
  12. Indeed Krimi, not a cheap upgrade, but should future proof the car and help with running more horsepower when the time comes. Looking forward to my first drive with the manual box. Just need to be patient as the guys at SRD are really busy so it’s taking a bit longer. Hoping they can start soon and I’ll get some updates to share with you guys.
  13. Very nice Krimi! I’d love to receive a pallet like that, must be like all your Christmas’s coming at once! Lol. Look forward to seeing your updates in May when work commences.
  14. Cheers Noz. Have to say I love the look of the TwinZ diffuser, I wanted something less race car and more fast road car so this really ticks the box. Thanks mate. It was a tough call as some will recall I was hoping to run the 8-speed auto from the Lexus ISF, but sadly despite SRD’s best efforts it still isn’t working properly. Think SYVECS have a lot on their plate so doubt the finer points will get sorted anytime soon and for my power goals this low mileage V161 with twin plate clutch is perfect.
  15. Hey All, Been a while since I’ve had any news or progress to report on my build. Funds were running low so I’ve been patiently waiting to get things moving again. Booked in for the next stage of development with SRD on the 27th March. Biggest job and change being the fitment of this rather tasty V161 6-speed manual box I picked up from a good friend who sadly had an accident late last year and decided to break his Supra for parts. Like a Phoenix from the ashes, I plan to honour that cars memory by using the gearbox to future proof my car ready for the hike in horsepower down the road. Gearbox comes with clutch, flywheel, front propshaft and all the bolts etc. SRD will provide the other bits I’ll need. Got a small list of jobs for Lee and the team to tackle when the car goes in: 1. Install V161 and supporting mods including LS400 series 2 rear diff which will be stripped down, cleaned and fitted with a new OS Giken LSD. 2. Fit replacement Yaris manual steering wheel. Current Yaris wheel has paddles I don’t need anymore. 3. Fit replacement Rev counter dial face in the main cluster as I’m losing the tiptronic screen that shows gear info. 4. Fit sound deadening to new manual transmission tunnel and footwells. 5. Fit new manual pedal cover set. 6. Fit and wire fog light in rear diffuser mesh. 7. Fabricate new servo assist arm to front number plate flipper. Current plastic one is useless and isn’t up to the job. 8. Repair/weld OSR inner to outer rear sill and weatherproof sills properly. 9. Fit Fluidampr crank pulley. Hopefully next year we can get the single turbo, fuelling and Hypertune fitted. Year after will be engine rebuild and then we should be able to turn up the boost. I’ll keep you guys posted and let you know when I hear anything from Lee and the team. Looking forward to my first drive after the manual is fitted. Cheers all. Pete
  16. Looks great, nice choice and looks like it’s been wrapped really nicely as well. Any more plans for the car this year or just a case of using it and enjoying every second after your decade of not having it to make you smile.
  17. I love the fact you didn’t even try to get away after setting off the neighbours car alarm. Nice exhaust note in fairness, and I know the microphone might dull the sound a bit, but didn’t sound that loud to me? Maybe the neighbour should turn down their alarm sensitivity a bit? Car is hybernating for a bit now at least so that should make them happy.
  18. Hi and Welcome, Nice Supra you had before, guessing you may already know prices for these cars have gone up a fair bit over the past few years, so depending on what spec you’re after you may want to sit down before you see the prices. Best bet is to give us a clue on what you’re after and what you’re budget is, be prepared to wait or pay a premium if you’re after say a TT6 manual or single that’s been done right. Whilst we don’t actually know what people are paying for the cars at the moment, you only need to check say Autotrader or eBay to see what people are asking for them at the moment. If you do decide to buy you’re way back in then my advice is stay put as don’t think it’s going to get any cheaper as these beasts get older and harder to find in top condition. Very best of luck whatever you decide to do. Cheers. Pete
  19. Welcome. Nice looking Supra, let us know if you need any help putting the interior back together, had mine all apart fairly recently so happy to help if I can. Best of luck and nice purchase once again. Cheers. Pete
  20. I’d say powder coated personally, but no doubt others may go painting. I’ve always heard powder coating on all the restoration shows I watch.
  21. Been there, done that mate. Last garage was a small single so I had to drive in then get out through the boot! Lol. Thank you kindly, been a long time in the making, but it’s finally a reality. Yep, I liked the photos from the club calendar and didn’t want to throw them out so bought some frames and hey presto, nice Supra wall art. Thank you Keith, means a lot mate.
  22. Hey Folks, More of a garage update, thanks to Elite Modular Flooring I now have my awesome Swisstrax floor fitted. Finishes the garage so well in my opinion. Few shots empty, with the Supra back inside and with all my garage units and equipment that had to go in our dining room much to Mrs. P’s annoyance! Lol. Been a long day hampered by rain but it’s looking the part now at least. If anyone is looking to get their garage floor done let me know as Elite can hook you up with a discount as well.
  23. Hi mate. Funnily enough I used them only the other day and have to say they are holding up really well. Even the MOT tester I used complimented them and said he’d seen them before on Skylines but not a Supra. They do the job and protect the sills so I’m still happy with my purchase. I know some weren’t so convinced, but it’s a personal choice at the end of the day. Put it this way my sills are still nice and straight and I’ve not had any issues with the pucks or clearance etc. Hope that helps. Cheers for now. Pete
