  1. Didn’t need much twisting or convincing mate. As you said, Dart Iron Eagle block seems like a great price, I’m not likely to go over 1,000hp, but having a block rated for twice that just gives peace of mind.
  2. Indeed. Not as responsive as it should be after we do the engine build mind. Once it has the Dart block, 3.4 Titan stroker and head/cams from SRD to match, should be building boost like OEM which will be quite something I reckon.
  3. I’m happy with that turbo mate. It’s the one Mike at SRD bought and then decided he wanted a bigger one! It’s brand new so should last me for now.
  4. Thanks mate. I’ve used it for the half cage inside as well as the intercooler pipes, core and front strut brace. Adds a nice touch I think. In other news……… it’s ALIVE! 39fce9b5-6d97-4c99-a8d0-00a61f79685e.mov
  5. Got you. I’m looking at Dart block, Titan 3.4 stroker etc as next step. Turbo is a Garrett G40-1150 so shouldn’t need changing anytime soon. Good luck with the sale mate.
  6. Nice. Sounds like it’s coming together nicely with all the right parts to make a proper quality tribute car. Look forward to seeing the progress on this. Any idea when you think it might be done or at least rolling as I appreciate there will be lots of little touches. Guessing it won’t be at any shows this year, but look forward to seeing it at some point. Keep up the good work guys.
  7. Exciting! Whats the new plan mate? You going Dart block as well? Whatever it is hopefully you can get the turbo sold and crack on with your build. Best of luck and look forward to seeing updates.
  8. Evening All. So making steady progress on the single swap. New intercooler pipework is back from Inspraytion and is looking good installed on the car. Hopefully full speed ahead now so it can get on the dyno soon. Will keep you posted when I hear more from Lee P and the team.
  9. Wow! Certainly made some flames and a good smoke show! lol. Sounds amazing as well.
  10. Hi mate. Absolutely can’t wait. Won’t be going to crazy power wise as still on stock engine and stock cams. 700 would be nice, but will have to see how it goes next week when it’s hopefully going on the dyno. Mike’s beautiful engine loom is all fitted now so just need the intercooler pipework back from Inspraytion so the guys can finish up and hit the rollers. I’ll keep you posted.
  11. So bit of an update. Pipework should be done now and hopefully on the way back to Lee and the team to fit. Mike has also finished the new engine loom which has to be said looks amazing! Such quality work. Still some work to be done, but moving forwards which is all I can ask for as I know how busy SRD are trying to help as many of us as possible. Will update further when I hear more. Enjoy the sun folks!
  12. Morning All. Small update from Lee/SRD. The new intercooler pipes have been fabricated by the super talented Ash, and have been sent off to Sean at Inspraytion for powder coating in the same dark copper used on the original pipes. Mike is tackling the new engine loom and Ash is currently getting stuck in to the downpipe and midpipe, however they still need a flange to turn up. Not much in the way of photos, but did get this one of the new pipework. Ash has done a fab job as always and hopefully these will be powder coated soon and sent back to the guys to reinstall. I’ll keep you all posted when I hear more. Have a great day all.
  13. Hi, My stock JDM twins are going to be available shortly. Car is being converted now to big single setup so the twins have been removed and will be for sale if interested. Car is currently at SRD in West Sussex or would be Kent when it’s ready for me to collect. Think front turbo has some blade damage, but worked fine and apparently fairly common according to Lee P. PM if interested.
  14. Hey all, I’m keen to get to one of these again once I get mine back from SRD. Will keep an eye on here as won’t be this month. Hope those who can attend have a good time and I’ll see you all soon hopefully.
  15. Very nice Brad. Paul’s done a lovely job with that. Looks stunning!
  16. Latest update and progress photos from Lee/SRD. Turbo is fitted along with the Hypertune intake manifold. Ash has made a start on the new intercooler piping and the guys are waiting on some bits for the new Garrett G40-1150 so they can fabricate the oil feed and down pipe. The oil return side of the turbo is all fabricated and installed. It’s coming together nicely and every photo I see is getting me more excited as it’s one step closer to being finished and ready for me to collect and drive. I’ll keep you all posted when I hear more.
  17. Thanks mate. Should be something posted on socials soon as far as tickets for spectators. I will PM details over in case you are interested in attending. Should be a good show with lots of nice cars and people attending. Hopefully see you there.
  18. There is a GT Tuners Club event taking place there on the 14th July. Hoping my car will be ready by then so I can attend.
  19. Thanks mate and 100% on seeing it at a meet. Hoping to have it back for North Weald if things keep going well. Fingers crossed.
  20. Couple of update photos from Lee/SRD. They painted the throttle body black to match the Hypertune and tie in better with the engine bay theme. Notice all the masking tape to protect everything whilst they do the fabrication work. It’s this level of care and detail I really appreciate and value. Coming along nicely.
  21. Thanks mate. Lee has told me they look better in person and not as orange as in the photos, so hopefully all good there. Shouldn’t be any issues with the paint, and if there is BCS do give a warranty on their work so should be fine.
  22. Funnily enough Lee at SRD mentioned Bigg Red is who they normally use. SRD are doing a great job as they always do. It’s the care and attention to detail that really impresses me. Super pleased with their work.
  23. Thanks. It is a shame as BCS did my ISF calipers a few years back and they did a great job. Just wanted to share and glad if it helps others.
  24. Evening All, Had some more updates from Lee/SRD today. Ash has been busy making one of his beautiful exhaust manifolds. Done some test fitting with the turbo and it’s looking so good. Also got the refurbished calipers back today from BCS. I opted for McLaren burnt copper, but it’s also known as burnt orange. I’m guessing it looks different in person as the photos make it look a bit more orange than I would have liked, but I’ll have to decide for myself when I see the actual car if I’m happy or not. Bit odd and disappointing they have over sprayed the new piston seals. It’s off because they clearly took the calipers apart and replaced the seals, but didn’t paint them first and then rebuild them. Looks like they rebuilt them and then painted them which is why there is over spray. Don’t think it will show on the car, but considering this was their premium service and not exactly cheap, it’s a bit frustrating. Think it looks better with the wheels back on and the body in the photo, but let me know what you guys think. Work will continue on the hot side for now and then Ash will move to the new intercooler pipework which is going to be powder coated in the same dark copper used on the current pipework, strut brace and also the bolt in half cage. I’ll provide more updates when I hear more, but going well so far and I’m very happy with Lee/SRD and the work they’ve done for me so far. Thanks guys.
  25. Morning All, Had some more photos and an update from Lee/SRD. The PHR power steering reservoir is fitted, so is the FluidAmpr crank pulley and the Radium fuel pump hanger and new pumps we saw in a previous photo. New battery also mounted in the boot. It’s all coming along nicely when you think it’s not even a week into the build. Huge thanks to Lee and the team for their efforts. Looking forward to seeing more updates soon.
