  1. All valid points, issue is my condenser is scrap and I am unsure what else needs replacing to get it working properly. I was under the impression most parts for the air conditioning system are obsolete? If I can source replacements then I will probably keep it especially as I am hopefully going to use the carbon scuttle panel which must restrict cabin airflow as there are no holes to draw in the air? I’m hoping someone here has fitted the carbon scuttle and can share some tips and even a photo or two of the install (mainly around the bonnet hinges as think this is where we need to cut and trim to get it to fit properly).
  2. Personal choice really, it’s an old system and takes up space/robs power. I’m only using the car for high days and holidays (not daily driver), so can live without it. Appreciate people may disagree/ have their opinions as with most things.
  3. Afternoon Folks, Hoping someone on here may have fitted one of these Whifbitz carbon scuttle panels and have some tips/pointers on how to fit it right? We offered it up on my car as front screen is out and bonnet is off (so good access) and it doesn’t seem to fit very well. Just wondering if anyone else had issues and if so, what you did to solve it and get it to fit right? We can try chopping it about to make it sit properly, but obviously won’t be able to send it back if we do and it still doesn’t fit right. Also anyone who has one installed, how do you get on in terms of your air vents/air flow? I noticed the OEM trim has lots of slots for airflow, there are none on the carbon version. I’d have thought that could be an issue for drawing in air to circulate in the car, but happy to hear differently from anyone who has one of these fitted? It’s quite important for me as I am ditching the aircon system so be useful to know if I can still use the air vents etc. Thanks in advance for any tips or help folks. Pete
  4. Agreed, I would love the opportunity to do more work myself, but never seem to have enough time. Do think you get an extra sense of pride and achievement if some or all of the work is your own. Keep up the good work mate.
  5. Hey Ric, Glad to hear the MOT went without a hitch, I had faith it would as you can tell you look after it mate. Nice work on the sound deadening, looks like a good job. Hopefully see you at a show or two at some point, getting close to having mine back on the road so fingers crossed it happens mate.
  6. Thank you mate, means a lot. Glad you like the tinted indicators, has to be one of my favourite custom touches that Matt has done, they work really well.
  7. Afternoon Folks, Popped down to see Matt and the car this morning. Front bumper is now on and looking mighty fine. Front indicators are all wired up and working, plus the front number plate and flipper are all done and working well. Hoping the front screen turns up next week. IMG_1364.MOV
  8. Welcome Amy, Very nice collection of cars you have going on there. I may have a set of wheels and tyres to sell fairly soon, just waiting on my new ones to arrive from Japan. I also have a new set of suspension to fit which will mean the existing setup will be for sale at a good price if it’s all ok when Lee P/SRD remove it for me. Ive added a couple of photos of the wheels. These are 18’s, tyres are hardly used and have lots of tread left. Currently in bronze, but could be re-done in other colours if needed. Car was black and is now grey, but actually think the wheels still work really well personally. Suspension I believe is HSD monopro coilovers from Garage Whifbitz. Retail is £775, and they are only around 3yrs old with over a year of that unused as car has been off the road with the bodyshop. Rides well for road or occasional track use, but I wanted the HKS MAX4 GT’s so have a set of those to fit at SRD. If you have any interest in wheels & tyres or suspension (or both), let me know and we can figure it out. Best of luck with the new car and keep us posted on the final colour choice as well. All the best, Pete
  9. Welcome! Lovely looking car you and you’re Bruv have there. Would love to see some engine bay pics and also details of the turbo you guys are using. Should be a weapon once it’s bedded in and running properly. Best of luck with it and keep us posted on your progress getting it back out on the road where it belongs.

Welcome Aboard! Get some pics up, we all like to see a Supra here and be good to hear a bit more about the condition and your plans to fix it up. If you have big plans, might even consider starting a build thread like me and quite a few others on here. All the best, Pete
  11. Hi, Probably not in the right section of the forum, but hopefully a mod will move it for you. Looks like a good clean may be all you need to improve the contact with the bulb. If you google search ‘how to clean electrical contacts’ it gives you some options. Rubbing alcohol is the main one I have heard of myself, but seems there are sprays and lots of options depending on what you can find. Hope this helps and you get it fixed soon.
  12. Little update from Matt today, he’s got the rear carbon number plate garnishes fitted, and also the door handles are now on plus the electric folding mirrors have been stripped down and given a good soak in WD40 and re-greased. Passenger side working perfectly, but drivers side is still struggling to open without a helping hand. Hoping it frees up, but we will see. Just waiting on parts now.
  13. Thanks Mike. No, garage is in a right state, been a dumping ground on account of no car in it for over a year! Still, weather is good so time to start getting it ready I guess! Car won’t be home long as it has a long list of work to do over with Lee P and the team at SRD when it’s back together. Hoping it can be buttoned up in time for Go Japan at Brands in September.
  14. Hi Tyson, time will tell mate, but think it should be ok. Matt got the rear screen back in today with the new correct OEM rear seal (thanks Paul at Whifbitz for supplying) and the fuel filler flap cover. Rear is almost done and looking mighty fine.
  15. Cheers mate. Thanks. Thanks, the diffuser has turned out really well and finishes the rear off really well. Wasn’t an easy fit as I had the molded rear spats, but true to form Matt found a way to make it work. The two tone as well works so well, really happy with it.
  16. Thanks mate. Was lucky with the seats as managed to get a set after the Speed was discontinued. Do suit these cars really well. No mate, probably the lighting in the workshop as it looks spot on in person. No wax or oil, just polished. Lights are care of my good mate Harry Moore. He did such a great job on these, I’d almost forgotten how good they look having been boxed up safely for a year or so. Can’t wait to see what magic Harry does on my headlights as well, should finish the lighting off nicely.
  17. Hey Folks, So Matt and mate have been hard at work getting things fitted today. Rear end is almost complete and have to say looking mighty fine! Love it so damn much, makes the wait so worth it.
  18. Afternoon All, Popped over to see Matt and drop off my rear lights at lunchtime. Matt was kind enough to drive the car out into the sun for me to see the new colour in all it’s glory. Photos really don’t do it justice, but I snapped a few anyway. Matt has a mate popping round today to hopefully get the tailgate, rear bumper and possibly the doors fitted. That way Matt can tackle the smaller/lighter jobs like fitting the rear lights and diffuser on his own. It’s looking great and should be coming together pretty quickly now.
  19. It’s funny seeing the exhaust without the rear bumper on. Looks huge! Lol. Going to look so good when the rear bumper and TwinZ diffuser go on. Not to mention the tailgate with the TRD wing and my gorgeous rear lights that Harry Moore worked his magic on. Haven’t seen them since they went back in the box over a year ago, but hoping the reworked headlights are ready soon along with my new wheels. Had confirmation from Driftworks they are now built and waiting for the next shipment from Japan, so hopefully only a few weeks to go.
  20. Thank you mate, Matt has done such a good job on this, he is a real perfectionist and it shows now the shell is painted. The gaps, shaping and blending work are top notch, just so happy to see it all coming together.
  21. Thank you both. Have to say a huge thanks to Matt at M H Bodywork who not only painted the shell on Saturday, but was back in Sunday flatting and polishing it. He’s half way and have to say it’s looking amazing! Getting so close to re-assembly now, can’t wait.
  22. Hey Mate, Not boring, it’s good to get these niggles fixed properly, no matter how small or trivial. Looks like your getting there fella, ABS issue aside until the relays arrive anyway. I enjoyed the update.
  23. Afternoon All, So the electrics were done earlier this week, meaning the car was ready to paint. I wasn’t sure if Matt was going to tackle the shell today, but was super excited when he sent me this video earlier. So nice to see the biggest piece in paint, means we are now getting very close to re-assembly and getting the car back to me to drive and enjoy. IMG_1314.MP4
  24. Nice to read something positive, as you say, your lucky day finding the issues before they caused any major problems. Hopefully many happy hours of driving pleasure ahead!
