  1. i'll keep that in mind guys........tks
  2. that's good to hear....at least i have an idea.
  3. do any of you use any egt gauge? i installed the greddy egt just to keep any eye on the motor. i weld the sensor on the downpipe to get general readings.. it might not be accurate but at least i can tell what the motor is doing at full load or at cruising speed. at cruising speed, my readings will show between 600-700 deg. i wonder what i might see at wide open throttle... people say not to go over "900" or something will pop right off the exhaust !! haha
  4. ok. tks my fellow mates.......
  5. how about upgrade to walbro pump? will i still need the safc? also with usdm twins?
  6. will the jspec ecu handle the 550's with proper resistor packs? has anyone done this?
  7. i live in a area were the wheather is like between 62-75 degress right now and by summer of june/july, we get around 80-90 degress....very hot !! how much is that restrictor ring in us dollars? any website that i can check? yeah, i always hit boost spikes....i hate it so much !! i will get rid of the boost controller. i had it disonnected for 1 week, and i personally think the car ran better w/o it.
  8. tks homer.......and rest of the guys who chimmed in !! great thread !! homer, yeah i think 1.2 bar equals to 18psi. i only ran it once at 1.2 but didnt do it again. i would like to put the first catty to get more back pressure since i am just running w/o any cats at all ! maybe that will help me control the boost better with the greddy profec. tks again !!!
  9. i once hit 1.2 bar, if i can remember, when the tt project was done on my soarer. i test drove it the first time and i hit 1.2bar. i got scared for a moment.....hehe
  10. well, i do have a decat but no restrictor. i also have fcd, colder plugs (nkg 6097's just installed), fmic, walbro pump, greddy profec b II (i hate this bc, very complicated to adjust), 3inch downpipe, and full exhaust. i have two decats but i truly believe, i need to gain more back pressure. i hate to deal with boost creep all the time and hitting fuel cut. i dont plan on changing the cams. damn, i already got the 550's and US TWINS with me....arrrhrhrhrhrhh
  11. well, i dont really want to achieve BIG pwr gains... i just need a little bit more than what i have right now. any suggestions on how to get more power out of the jspec twins? how can someone achieve 400-450 wheel hp with the jspec?
  12. sorry to confuse everyone....as you can see, i am a newbie here... i am running the jspec twins right now and would like to upgrade to US TWINS. my installer used US WIRING HARNESS with jspec ecu as well. he did some modification on harness and it works perfectly fine. so, i am running the us spec harness. the jspec ones are not blown, but would like to get more hp since the us twins can handle more power. doesn't the jspec ECU handle the 550's? with the resistor packs? or i need to get US ECU? i do have walbro pump installed so that's ok. HOMER: so how do i achieve 400-450 flywheels hp with jspec twins? i am at bpu right now.
  13. anyone here converted their jspec twins to uk/us twins? if so, what is needed to complete the project? i heard that you will need the flwg parts below: -550cc injectors and resistor packs -us/uk twin and exhaust manifold -upgrade fuel pump anything else missing? thanks
  14. i have a questioin, why do you guys need to sand the dash while you can just paint over it as long as you use the correct paint for vinyl? i used SEM paint which does not require any sanding of some sort. just make sure you clean the dash with 'alcohol' to remove dirt and other protectant solvents that you use to clean the dash.
  15. hey guys....sorry for the confusion. yes, i do have a jspec that came from aristo . right now, im running full exhaust without cat, well at least i have one left but it's "free-flow" type, fcd, greddy gauge, egt gauge (not hooked up yet), fmic and walbro pump. i adjusted fcd knob to read 3.25volts, if im not mistaken to extend fuel cut. i've been toying around with the bc and i just can't seem to get the right settings. i hit 1bar easy, but one day i hit 1.25bar when i was adjusting the bc. the car spools real quick off the line, which i really like, but i dont like to hit my limiter all the time when i want to boost more. i guess there is a limitation on all this. i might as well take the bc out and just run the max psi all the time.
  16. any of you guys running the greddy profec B or spec II ? i need to know the settings you guys are using on a jspec. it seems like i hit boost spike all the time on low gears then hit fuel cut. im still tyring to tune it though. i set low boost at .85% and 1.10 on high boost, but my warning is set to 1.25bar tks
  17. tks for the kind words fellas.....
  18. no i dont have the restrictor ring....but i do have a free-flow catty
  19. yes, it's the jspec engine and i think it's the same motor as the 'aristo'. before i had the boost controller, i wz boosting close to 1 bar, very close but not pass 1 bar. with boost controller, i even hit 1.25 bar the other day cuz i was playing around with the unit. i wz told also not to run over 1.2 bar conversatively so i might just set up the unit to 1.2 bar. my exhaust consists of only 1 free-flow cat; i removed the 1st catty right after the turbo and ran 3inch downpipe all the way back to the mufflers. since i have the walbro pump but with 440cc injectors, will it still be safe to boost over 1.2 bar? i ordered some ngk 6097's to replace those iridium ones. i will see if the car runs better. also, since i have the greddy bc, do u guys know what settings shud i use for low and high boost? and as well as for "gain"...? here are some pics of the car, enjoy. took me 1.5 mos to complete the swap. still running the stock 5speed tranny but with upgraded clutch kit by ACT.
  20. i just installed a jspec on my sc300 and im loving the boost !!! my question is what is most hp i can get out of this motor ? right now, im running bpu: -fcd -2 decat -full exhaust -greddy boost controller -fmic -iridium plugs (not sure which one....hehhee) -walbro fuel pump without the boost controller, i can barely hit 1bar...or close to it. with boost controller "on", i can hit 1.2bar but dont want to exceed that. do you think im safe boosting 1.1-1.2 all the time with my bpu's? 1 bar is not enough for me so i do want to boost a little bit more. also, should i change my plugs to colder ones cuz i think im just running the standard plugs in there. any feedback would be appreciated. tks fellas !!!
