  1. If you're doing racing properly you'll be wearing gloves. My single-seater has suede and it works perfectly.
  2. I'd have asked for the tyres to be fitted to the wheels before delivery.
  3. Have a search - this has been covered hundreds of times
  4. Your mum has a cannon?! Pics or it never happened.
  5. More calendar-worthy photography there Jazz Lip looks nice though. I'd have had one of those when I had my Supra.
  6. They are technically very good, but in practice for road cars they're awful to drive for the most part. - - - Updated - - - They're great in the city because you just stick it into full auto mode and then it's point-and-shoot.
  7. Not really when you consider that the warranty stays intact with these mods. There will be brake mods too BTW
  8. CVT can be OK in higher-powered applications, but as a general rule it is the work of the devil and I want the person who came up with the theory to explode.
  9. Double-clutch gearboxes are faster, more efficient and easier to use. In high performance guise they're also very engaging. I do love a manual car, but driving a motor with a decent DCT 'box shifted my perception somewhat.
  10. I've got no idea why you posted this in technical. I've moved it to the correct forum. I've also changed your title to something more descriptive. Titles like 'Have a look at this' are totally useless on a forum.
  11. You are willing to pay £4,600 per year to INSURE a Supra? You can buy a tidy TT for that! Are you mental? I had a Supra at 23 and was paying half that. You're being bent over.
  12. That's not only hilarious, but absolutely true. I've had some of my best results when I've been somewhat worse for wear. Club racing, eh?
  13. Yep that's basically the point. It's far from a 'plug-and-play' thing, no matter how these things are marketed by traders.
  14. Not sure I agree with that. There are carefully thought-out, planned and executed builds, and then there are disasters. There's rather a lot more to building a reliable modified car than most people think.
  15. Buy cheap, buy twice. Simple as that. I did thousands of very hard-driving miles on my single without a hitch, but that's because I used the proper bits and over-engineered where necessary. Doing a single conversion for £3k is a recipe for financial ruin. Terrifying prospect.
  16. Buy the car first, then the wheels.
  17. I'd leave the spare in there. I'd leave the tyres well alone too. Not sure what you think putting too much pressure in them is going to do? Drive VERY slowly. It'll be easy to get caught out in those conditions.
  18. Launch control and anti-lag are different things, which can be used alongside one another but serve different purposes. The 'two-step' launch control systems are just another rev limiter used only in first gear. They're meant for getting perfect starts, but obviously that depends on the conditions. Anti-lag is a system which keeps the turbo spinning when not on throttle by injecting extra fuel, meaning you don't have to spool it up again. The Syvecs can do both functions, but both will kill your turbo eventually.
