  1. Boxster and Ferrari Portofino stand out for me in this regard, but in stuff like the Cayenne Turbo it's arguably more impressive simply because of the sheer weight of the car. Modern systems are very smoothly integrated. That Focus is miles better with everything switched off, though.
  2. It also had a four-stage map, flat-shift changes and loads of other upgrades. I'd disagree it needs more...
  3. The only small thing here is Toyota did a concept a while back with a simulated H-gate on an auto 'box... not sure if you get three pedals too though.
  4. I drove the Cosworth s/c one for an article when I was running an 86. Was absolutely mad. 'Only' 320bhp, but felt supercar quick
  5. Who cares? The GT86 is among the best drivers' cars available at any price right now. I understand this Yaris is pretty special too, but all sold in the UK already.
  6. Sure thing. I'm at the office running our coverage, though.
  7. That new Yaris GRMN is a supercharged 1.8 though Full story here: https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/first-official-pictures/toyota/toyota-gr-supra-racing-concept-news-details-specs/
  8. They're phasing out diesel in Europe. Pretty much the easiest decision ever since Avensis went off sale recently. They don't need diesel anymore.
  9. News from my guys on the show floor: a) it will have a straight-6 b) it won't be hybrid c) it's coming in late 2019 d) doubt there will be a manual e) it'll be branded by Gazoo Racing in some way
  10. Launching a competition car before a road-going sports car is pretty normal. Audi did it with the current R8 - that had won races before anyone had driven the road car. And yes, we're seeing the racing concept. We'll get a load of new info on the road car though, I'm sure.
  11. And here: https://www.toyota-europe.com/world-of-toyota/articles-news-events/2018/geneva-motorshow-2018-live We've got guys sitting down with the engineers though. Should be able to deliver a far richer story
  12. We'll get a lot more news about the new Supra tomorrow at the Geneva motor show. I'll post in here when the story breaks.
  13. it's a delicate balance but we'll do our best to keep everyone informed as and why decisions are made.
  14. I can assure you it is. There's a lot of discussion going on behind the scenes. While that's not a tangible result you can see or feel just yet, the ball is very much rolling.
  15. You might want to revisit this post once you've worked out how good many modern BMWs are to drive, and how the modern car industry works. Platform sharing is hardly news.
  16. No problem Tony. Once you've paid you'll have access to the Classifieds section of the site, which is where you're able to advertise cars/parts and also browse other members' adverts.

  18. Fine as long as you can't see yourself driving it.
  19. Hi there, Please pay the £10 membership fee before advertising on the site. Many thanks.
  20. Chaps, put the handbags down. The forum is overdue a rethink for sure, but there's no reason it won't remain at the core of what the club's about. Social media channels will emerge and die, but the site will remain the backbone. As already mentioned we're in the throes of planning the a rebuild of the site, but it's a far bigger project than perhaps some of you imagine based on comments thus far. This site's indexed content goes back many years and there's a lot of custom coding to unpick too. That's the reason it's been held off so long until now. However, the growing readership on smart devices does mean we now need to act. So we will. All ideas greatly appreciated - it's a club for the members, after all
  21. Yes. I test drove Cosworth's demo car when I was running an 86 with work. It's mega, as you'd expect. The exhaust note sounded a little strange, but it's a far better idea than turbocharging a car like that. The one I drove had 320hp or so and felt supercar quick. I don't say that lightly... Personally, I'd go for the conversion, but it'll need supporting mods to make it great. You need wider wheels, sticker tyres, uprated brakes and the ECU with switchable maps using the cruise control stalk (VERY cool). My review (and a short video) can be found here on update 10: https://www.parkers.co.uk/toyota/gt86/coupe-2012/long-term-reviews/toyota-gt86-12-on-toyota-touch-2-with-go-20-boxer-d-4s-2d/
