  1. I've got to say, although I've not approached him yet I'm leaning the same way for the work I need doing.
  2. Me too! Especially since he made it his business to threaten certain people when he didn't get what he wanted. Better left forgotten IMO. He was not the best trader we've ever had.

    joke

Oh my word. That's bad. Better when spoken, but still bad.
  4. I imagine the Sun newspaper will be giving them a cheque or two.
  5. But will they still be called Honda? I'm not sure they'll use the name with Merc engines? I'm far from an authority on F1 politics though. I guess they could call it "team earthdreams" or something equally as PC. I'm sure our resident F1 guru will know more. Tony?
  6. Interesting. He's driving an Evo 6 now since being banished from the world of the Supra. He's just repairing it now after almost writing it off. I've heard horror stories before, including steering racks being secured with only one bolt! How did he ever go into business?!
  7. Hey mate, glad the car is better. Are you talking about Slowdog/MaxGT?

    Ironically making them more money
  9. wow. They would look amazing.

    A Ford Impreza of course!
  11. I thought you were going for the plastic policeman job?
  12. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I'm eying the rad cover, but only eying tonight
  13. That should be about right, not including the car... Nic has posted a good spec for the power you're looking for, but every single build is different
  14. Oh, and if legal proceedings are in process or are likely to be, this needs moving out of the public eye ASAP.
  15. It is very hard to prove. You can't prove that he/she agreed to installments, or even if they agreed to pay it back at all. That's the nature of word of mouth, unless you have eye witnesses. Even then it's not set in stone. I feel for you here, it seems you're between a rock and a hard place, and I hope you can find a lawyer who will see justice done.
  16. Surely he can counter any allegation of the above though? What proof do you have that he intended to defraud you?
  17. You didn't get the lending of your life savings recorded in writing?! I think you need to get some serious legal advice, and even then I'm not sure you have a case that will stand up in court.
  18. Exactly, that's what I mean. YOU (the parent) checked if he had a license. That's the difference. How on earth are you meant to know if someone has a valid license if they've got a chopper, a heli-pad and all the gear? Well, you ask. Someone didn't ask, and this is the result. I think it's a shame to defame someone like this because of a combination of lack of judgment and bad circumstance. He was an amazing athlete, one of the best in the sport IMO. It's easy raking things up after the event but I didn't hear anyone moaning the day after he died.
  19. They simply can't have been. I mean, for this situation to arise in the first place doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their judgment. If they were willing to let their kid go in any vehicle piloted by a world rally ace they couldn't have expected 747 levels of comfort. He was an adrenaline junkie - you just need to watch his driving for that. Obviously it's a lot easier bolting that stable door after Mr Gee-Gee has fecked off.
  20. Of course, I've owned 2 Supra TTs and a pretty rapid MR2 turbo
  21. So she gets the spiders out of the bath then? LMAO!
