  1. Change the oil and inspect the old stuff to look for small bits of metal. Sounds a little like the 'box might be wearing out.
  2. For a twisty road you need a manual car with a nice power band. You'll find a turbo on full boost by 4,000rpm will be enough, and if you're looking for driving enjoyment then drive it properly and it'll put an automatic to shame every single time.
  3. I found replacing the twin turbos with a single was a worthwhile job
  4. I think that has potential to be something quite special, but it needs silly cash spending.

First of all, full membership details are here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?82442-Club-Membership-Details-Including-Trader-amp-Hobbyist-Membership-Rules After that, you can type up a classified advert using the template in the For Sale section so you don't miss vital information. Post your ad, sell your car. Job done
  6. Sounds like a good plan. It's coming along very nicely indeed
  7. The carbon/ceramic Endless ones worked well on my car on track. Decent quality fluid, discs and pads make a huge difference. It won't be your driving on track though. Harder braking creates worse conditions than slower, softer braking. And if you're doing it right, you should be trying to set them on fire, anyway

    Rota alloys

    You couldn't make it up.
  9. Standard engine and cams will work up to 600bhp, at which point the cam profiles mean the engine begins to choke. Mine did thousands of miles at around 600bhp with a totally unopened engine.

  11. Shouldn't make much difference to resale value really, but if you're bothered about it, there are other solutions. They cost a lot more though.
  12. For me, reliability is far more important than power you simply can't use. I'd wager I could drive a 550bhp Supra just as quick as a 700bhp one around a track.
  13. The VLN races are amazing to watch. There's a real party atmosphere there when they are on. Enjoy!
  14. Silly question but have you checked the track is open for tourists?
  15. it gets everyone in the end. I'd have another in a heartbeat if I'd never tried motor racing.
  16. Have a quick look at the regs for the Birkett relay race... a club entry would be VERY cool indeed
  17. Nice one. That is a mistake I'll never make again! The HANS is absolutely priceless mate. Get one bought. When you go, bring your helmet as they need to install the anchor points to it
  18. Do they work with a HANS device? Worth thinking about if you're going to do any proper racing. Trust me, they're horrifically uncomfortable otherwise. I didn't have a HANS-suitable seat in my last single-seater and could barely drive when wearing it.
  19. Welcome I'm in Peterborough, but I suppose that's a bit too far north east!
  20. Not sure on the differences between Lexus and Toyota 2JZ GE engines - the GTE ones are different for example - but the NA Supra uses a W58 'box.
  21. Rats smell of eggs? You learn something new everyday.
  22. Nice pub fact for you: the engine in the A45 was the most efficient engine in terms of bhp/cylinder ever built... until the McLaren P1 came along.
