£30k cash to spend on my Supra (£20k mods and £10k petrol).

Cheap, reliable and not the worst chassis ever designed, but some of the little 'unique selling points' may not be to her liking. Make sure she takes it for a looooong test drive before deciding whether to buy. It's nowhere near as bad as the Splash.

BTW: the Cayman is one of the best handling road cars around. Lighter than a 911

It makes me laugh how people can simply dismiss this iconic brand. Shame. Porsche cars were always something special.

The 'clunk' is quite common on the 6 speed box, and it's also known for being fairly 'agricultural'. Get the clutch changed by a Supra specialist garage and get them to tell you whether your gearbox feels right or not.

If I had to do it again I'd go for a Blitz LM one, or ARC. Luckily mine still works well. I have an uprated radiator as well though. It's important to make sure the rad is getting the cooling it needs if you're sticking a huge FMIC in front of it.

I very much doubt the Veyron would have any trouble beating the Datsun around a track. You say it's over-rated, but there really isn't another road-going production car like it. It's a huge leap forward in technology. Oh, and it's the first mainstream production car to hit 1000bhp, but only if Bugatti unlock it once you've passed an advanced driving test they set. If not it's 'only' 750bhp.
