    Well they must have changed policy in the last 6 months then, because that wasn't the case when I worked for them.

    Telewest still uses a BT line though. Virgin doesn't. But you can't get box office, interactive or software updates without a phone line.

    They've tightened up now, you must have a phoneline to get a new Sky install, and it must be a BT line.

    It's £10 line rental if I remember right, but you get a £10 discount on the HD so it doesn't cost any extra. That's why the HD deal is so good. It's only the £25 flat fee for the line.

    Yes, make sure you do it through Sky. You'll also get free evening and weekend landline calls and 2mb broadband for free if you get a Sky line put in.

    You can't have Sky and Virgin on the same phone line, but Sky may well install a new one, a BT engineer will have to come out and it should cost £25.
