Amidst the hype of the ultra-exclusive LFA and the controversy surrounding the 'Toyobaru' FT-86 lightweight coupe, us Supra fans have missed something fairly significant.
Toyota is building a new Supra - or so the rumours say. The Japanese automotive giant has an eye on Le Mans GT1 racing, and will be taking a Supra to France. It's a hybrid model, but is based on the mkiv shape and is set to go racing in 2012.
We're looking at 473bhp from a V8, coupled with three electric motors. One in the back and two powering the front wheels.
The car is a re-invention of the Supra HV-R concept which raced in the Tokkachi 24 hour race two years ago.
