  1. Cars and old wine are two of the best places to put your money, but you need to know what you're doing! Understanding the market is crucial, and so is being ready to snap a car up immediately. You'll pay for the former, and you'll have to have faith in your own knowledge for the latter.

Good afternoon sir/madam. Welcome to our humble club, which isn't a dating site. Good luck finding love, all the same.
  3. Instead of building it up slowly, why not save slowly and do it all properly, once?
  4. Hopefully seeing your car posting serious lap times will attract more real enthusiasts
  5. For the love of god. At least this isn't in tech.
  6. The Americans are hilarious aren't they? You just need to see what happened to Dancia Patrick every time she got in a car to see that!
  7. She's had lots of 'chances' that haven't worked out... she was rubbish in DTM and her F1 testing hasn't exactly gone well. But she's great PR I suppose, and Toto being absolutely minted and in her corner helps too.
  8. Yep, I've interviewed some shockers too - terrible spelling, lazy punctuation and no idea how to act in a social environment. Unreal when you think what I do for a job! Why do they even bother?! It's the same for work experience applicants. Taking time on an application pays. Same as writing a classified advert for a car.
  9. Have any of you seen her drive?! She's not very good.
  10. I'm VERY interested to learn how they've "remapped" a Supra. It's generally accepted on here it's not possible. What were the changes made? I can't imagine it was for more power on an NA.
  11. I've never heard of Master Power, which makes me suspicious to start with. A T61 should be good for 500bhp or so, though. Should be somewhere around full boost before 4,000rpm. Personally I'd steer clear of piggyback ECUs (signal fudgers) through bad experience. Up to you, though!
  12. Could you stop the txt spk please?
  13. You can't remap the ECU easily at all. It's highly complex and nearly impossible unless you're an electronics genius. Even then, I doubt it'll work correctly. It's far easier (and cheaper, if you count time worked on the car) to fit a piggyback fuel controller or totally new ECU. For the best reliability you need a Syvecs ECU, but they're not cheap. Basically, you can do this on the cheap or you can do it properly and it'll be reliable. You won't be able to do both.
  14. I think two things: 1) Jimmy Carr could do it justice 2) This is going to make Mr Clarkson a far wealthier man
  15. Have you tried paying for membership yet? Or using the search function?
  16. The 2JZ-GTE is a straight-six DOHC engine. Weld two together and you've got a V12 quad-cam
  17. I'd be interested to hear how it plays out.
  18. Can't see how they'd be able to claim if the insurance is in her name. She'll need to deal with the whole lot. I also have no idea whether she was technically covered or not, but going by what I know about insurance companies, I doubt it!
  19. Styling aside, it's baffling that car has done so well. It's really not that great. It got enthusiasts talking about NISMO again though, and that's the idea.
  20. Funnily enough, in the past hour I was sitting down with Darren Cox! The reason for the Juke was to combine NISMO motorsport relevance with Nissan road cars. Bit of a no-brainer considering the British-built Juke wasn't modified by NISMO, but rather RML for a few wealthy clients. It was then paraded around the Middle East, where it beat the established supercar names in a number of drag races and was used as a pace car for some races. The quota built by RML was sold to wealthy enthusiasts who already owned one of each of the competition, and the exposure NISMO got and sales of Jukes off the back of it made it worth while. Basically, motorsport marketing is a real black art, but this particular exercise worked. According to NISMO, anyway.
