  1. Welcome! A Supra is probably the best car of its era for long-distance drives. It's also super-reliable. I did tens of thousands in mine with 600bhp and nothing went wrong. Just routine servicing items, really. That's after it was set up by a team of real experts, though. You want to find a car that hasn't been buggered about with by a cowboy. Turbos - if you don't push high boost - can last up to 300,000 miles in some cases. The rest of your questions can be answered using the search function at the top of the page, and that's going to become your very best friend because there is more information on this site than pretty much anywhere else on the web It would definitely be worth paying the £10 for full membership for a year if you're serious about buying. You'll get access to the classifieds section where all the best cars are advertised and all of the technical help and buying guides you'll need. Plus, you'll find out which traders are in the Midlands
  2. I used Lancaster for the slave. Cheap as chips.
  3. The best thing to do is read up on the law. You'll get lots of differing opinions on here about this and will end up more confused than you are now
  4. He genuinely is. Feel achingly sorry for him
  5. I meant is as depression diagnosed by a doctor.

  7. You're telling me you think that half of the people in the UK are clinically depressed? Like, one in every two people?
  8. Oh come on! No bloody way is it that common. Depression is a real thing, but it's also a vehicle used to pigeon-hole people GPs don't know what to do with, and as an excuse. Don't fancy work? Get down the doc and tell them you feel sad. This is a massive problem in the UK, and one I can't see a solution for because there will always be that percentage of society who do have a genuine need for medical treatment.
  9. The script writer, Richard Porter, has gone too now. He's also known as Sniff Petrol.
  10. Yeah. Great thread to make jokes in. Thanks for your input.
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32063587 This seems to indicate the plane was crashed deliberately. I was on a Germanwings A320 a few weeks ago and regularly travel with work. It's put the frighteners up a few of my team, that's for sure. My thoughts are with the families involved, and I sincerely hope this isn't what it looks like.
  12. Mine was great at 600bhp, unopened engine. If I had another I'd probably stick some 264s in there and leave it at that. Very few road cars come close to that level of performance. Even modern Ferraris.
  13. All true. And dealerships don't make profit from selling cars these days. They do by fixing them!
  14. The thing is, modern cars are full of wiring. Impossible to economically get by, for the most part. That Jag I mentioned is wired for Ethernet and uses two screens over ten inches. Imagine the complexity there!
  15. You're talking my language now. In-car tech is properly fascinating now and I'm getting properly into it. The next Jag XF (unveiled in New York in April) looks like it's going to move the game on in that respect.
  16. That looks slick. Sat-nav too through an app. Nice!
  17. Welcome become a paid member and you will never look back. There's more information available on here than anywhere else on the net. If it is a bottom end you'll find another engine no problem. They're not even that expensive.
  18. He wouldn't be seen dead on Fifth Gear. Trust me on that one!!
  19. Verdict due this morning. What do we think is going to happen?
