I do like turtles, but I absolutely love tortoises nowadays.
I've got a funny job in this respect. I get deadlines that I adhere to, but a lot of the time I do the work when I have to, there and then. It means I can juggle a lot into my days, but sometimes work bank holidays and late into the evenings to get things just right. I don't mind at all though, it's just an extension of something I'd be doing regardless, but it's nice to get paid for it.
When I used to work in 9-5 roles I always made sure I was there in enough time to fire up the old PC, ingest caffeine and settle in for the day. Also I'd start to shut things down after I'm meant to finish, but I was the only one who did. Most people treated the job like school - when the bell goes, you sprint off as quickly as possible.
