  1. OK... so you're saying the mk2 Rallye, mk7 R, mk5 GTI Edition 30 and mk6 Edition 35 are "disappointments"? I don't think they are.
  2. Hardly iconic?! You're joking, right? The Golf is up there with the biggest icons in motoring history. It's as big a thing as Beetle, 911, E-Type, Mini etc. I wonder which will be remembered in 25 years - Golf or Supra?
  3. No - you need a reliable source of expert help and it's worth travelling for that. Yes. No - unless you want to spend all of your money very quickly indeed. I'd use Fensport if I were you since they're not far. Located in Warboys.
  4. This isn't the first time he's been asked not to make threads about this. I've nudged the mods again. Locking this now. Please don't spam anymore.
  5. Hi there. Why are you copying and pasting BMW press releases direct to our site?
  6. Looking forward to Chris Wilson's take on this. Welcome to the site, though.
  7. Everyone's a researcher these days. Funny how the people spouting rubbish like this don't get paid for it, though
  8. You should be paying the pre-CO2 rate. If the DVLA's system shows different, you need to call them to query it. You can show by the chassis number when the car was built.
  9. Hi, could you cut out the txt spk please? Noticed it creeping into a few of your posts and it's something we frown upon here
  10. Best advice I can give you is make sure they're properly built and ideally certified. Cheap seats are not a good idea.
  11. You know how to launch that thing! The Impreza didn't seem to gain much at all on the start as you'd expect.
  12. If there's rust, you'll need that fitted before you get it painted and that might be very expensive to do properly. Also, £2k for what I'd consider a 'proper' respray is absolute peanuts. I'd expect at least twice that if not lots more.
  13. It's getting there. I edited a column for Classic Car Weekly about the mk4 a few weeks back. The glossy mags aren't quite on the same page yet, though. I'd say it has a couple more years before the mainstream really consider it a 'classic'.
  14. I know that. You post didn't make sense though or it did.
  15. To remove particulates from the exhaust and ensure the car conforms to EU emissions regs. While removal is a known tactic, I wouldn't fancy doing that to a car I was going to have to MOT every year. If there aren't rules against removing them now, there will be soon. Exactly. Take it for a long run on cruise control. It won't cost that much!

    Interior Help

    Saw title: thought colonic.
  17. Good luck mate - knock 'em dead (but not in the army sense)
  18. Sure. You've been banned from it. You have an unresolved dispute with another member, so because you've got so many other For Sale threads, we thought we'd give you the chance to fix it before causing other people the same issues
  19. VW made a loss on each one because it's a halo product. It's there to show what they can do, not to make a profit. They've got Golfs and Polos and all of the Audis for that. The idea was it was either the Veyron project or an F1 team, and I know for a fact that F1 would have cost the company more.
  20. That's interesting. I'll see if I can find out more.
