That's why my car now has a stock bumper mate. My Do Luck was a nightmare at this ride height. I had it fixed three times and then thought sod it and bought a proper bumper. My exhaust catches on the biggest speedbumps, but other than that my car is pretty usable.

Gotcha. Here's a pic of mine with yellow Bilsteins and lowering springs on 18" wheels. Not sure I'd want it any lower TBH

Most coilovers are height adjustable mate
  4. Use the clay bar to get contaminents out of the paint, then polish to remove swirls/imperfections, then wax over the top to protect it. That's my understanding, anyway
  5. I take it the car is actually single?
  6. I'd say wash, clay bar, polish and then wax. That's how I did it and it came out pretty well.
  7. If it's single as well as a 6-speed then it's probably worth a fair bit more than £10k to the right buyer.
  8. There's a convoy going from Fleet Services at 9:15 mate... don't think it's joining the Toddington convoy though. I think it's going straight there.

    work car advice

that was the most economical car I've ever owned. To the OP, how about a Mondeo diesel? They're a brilliant car, well built and quite dynamic but still cheap to run and quite spacious. They do a high-end STTDI version which sounds like would suit you nicely.
  10. This is true. Maybe we could get volunteers to do certain bits at certain times, e.g. 12:30 - Gav shows how to change the oil on an NA 13:30 - Graham shows how to check and change coolant on a TT 14:30 - Ed shows how to open the boot on his Supra
  11. Is there a space we can do this at the Pod then? I'll make sure we've got a photographer there to catch it all and do the write-up myself.
  12. Spend a little every day, or a lot once and be done with it. Very hard lol. I guess I'm basing my views on the fact that the OP wants to go single, so isn't afraid of spending a bit of dosh to get his car right.
  13. But even at BPU a decent ECU will give you notable benefits against a piggyback ECU and EBC. Besides, a BPU car with all the Syvecs features would be a lot more desirable to me than one without, so residual values will work both ways in this case... with the OP stating he may like to go single in the future I'd say his best option would be to get a plan together and then take the Solaris plunge.
  14. LOL I only ask because someone I know has just done this to their 'rat' car very recently and I was wondering if they'd both been smoking the same drugs or been to the same gang bangs together lately.
  15. Not really, because the Syvecs does a lot more to help your car than just boost control alone. If you factor in a decent traction control system, all of the monitoring available and all of the safety features plus the boost control, the Syvecs starts making a lot of sense... especially now good 2JZ-GTE engines are over £1500 from Japan.
  16. It's cool, just trying to save a few engines This thread tells its own story: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=224583
  17. Where did the chalkboard bonnet idea come from?
  18. The comments by Phil are enough for me!

  20. give it a few miles, and if they don't stop squeaking within a few good stamps on the brake pedal then get them to have another go.

    dont know

    Interesting. +1 for Philip decals.
  22. Which pads are they? Race compound pads often squeak.
  23. We could arrange something very short notice at Suprapod... or arrange something better a way off. Suprapod would guarantee a certain audience though!
