    Drove the new Mercedes-AMG A45 last week with 381bhp. It's mental. But a Supra is more involving. The BMW M2 will be the car to have at that size and price, though.

    My old 61mm turbo started to choke at higher revs. Does that help? I don't know which turbos have assholes fitted though. Is that new tech? Bit like a wastegate, perhaps? Or do you mean the aspect ratio?

    You want a rollbar at the least with an MX-5. I would not want to roll one!

    MX-5 or MR-2. Both will be reliable and parts aren't too expensive. Steer well clear of anything FWD if you want to learn

    The thing that really annoys me about that FB group - other than the dishonest owner, cut-throat morals and total lack of consumer protection - is the name. It makes no goddamn sense and makes me want to punch things.

    Interestingly, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4.0-litre "hot-V" V8 engine uses two mono-scroll conventional compressors. Doesn't feel like it has any lag at all.

    If the engine isn't getting the right cooling or airflow then it doesn't matter how it goes on the dyno.

    Ryan G did it with a V8 Supra IIRC. Made around 600bhp. Not sure what happened to it.

    To be fair, HIS dustbin probably does have a driver. It needs to work with the whole car. Engine isn't the only place performance comes from.
