  1. Yes but don't forget fuel costs, maintenence, insurance. It isn't just mechanicals.
  2. If you're trying to save money, don't go single full stop.
  3. Yes, it's the first mainstream electric car.
  4. The thread title is "actual single cost discussion" so I suppose that means both new and second-hand, tuner-built and home-built.
  5. Fair one - I guess it depends how addicted you get to driving it! My miles were at pretty serious speeds as well... I don't take many prisoners
  6. That's the rub though, I have the experience now.
  7. It wasn't without incident by any means, but it was a definite curve. At the start I had nothing but problems, but had maybe 30k of pretty much trouble-free motornig once I had the right parts and set-up for my car. It wasn't the money that was the issue, it was the time to develop the setup for what I wanted. You'd be surprised how much hassle it was just making my car legal for trackdays. In terms of maintenence, of course it depends how you're using the car.
  8. Fuel prices have dropped over the EU by 4.4% in 12 months, and in some places up to 6.5%. Not in the UK though.
  9. You can and probably will after the event
  10. I think it's worth noting that building a single install and building one that will work reliably for many thousands of miles over several years are two very different things.
  11. I've just changed your thread title to something more descriptive so it's easier to search for if needs be. Try harder in future please
  12. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/First-Official-Pictures/Ferrari-FF-2011-the-Prancing-Horses-new-four-wheel-drive-estate/
  13. Pretty much everyone's insurance has gone up. It's risen 33.2% in 12 months over the whole industry. The main reason is people making personal injury claims, so blame the ambulance-chasers
  14. Same as other live RAF bases, the runway will be covered with stones that will destroy your paintwork if you follow people. I've heard it's a brilliant track though.

    Crashed

I was driving up the A1 a few days back and was shocked how much spillage was on the roads - pretty much all of it was on roundabouts too. Granted it's a well-heeled excuse for twatting a car, but there's probably a sliver of truth in there somewhere.
  16. This thread is absolutely special.
  17. It might cost you nothing, but I always think bunging these people a couple of beer tokens is a good way to ensure good service in the future
  18. You need to go to an approved installer for whoever makes the alarm. It'll cost £20 or so for the certificate.
  19. Lee P from SRD has been looking after the car for the last 30k miles or so. It's been very reliable
  20. You can change the thread title too. You just need to click 'edit post' and then 'go advanced' and you'll have the option to change it

    Epic Fail

TBH I'd have that over 95% of the cars on this site, even in that shocking colour. A white respray and that would be bang-on IMO.
  22. My friend has one with 360bhp on the stock turbos... he gets single figure MPG on the motorway
