Parkers is a comparision site, just like pretty much every insurance site now. The prices are based on a risk profile set by each insurance company. The reason you're being quoted such a high amount is the insurers through Parkers don't want to insure you for whatever reason.

Welcome You'll pay way over the odds for a decent UK manual car. If I were you I'd talk to Jurgen on here about importing a nice one from Japan instead. He can do the leather for you and any other bits you want on the car before you pick it up. That's the best way to get the most for your money.

Only as long as it's an orbital one, otherwise you'll get swirl marks in the paint. You'll also need the right pads, and I have no idea which you'd need. I borrowed a friend's one to do mine.

On a budget I'd use a clay bar kit, then Autoglym super resin polish, then Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax.

Make sure all of the above are perfect before going on track, and also that there's enough pad left on your brakes for a bit of a hammering. Don't try and be the quickest out there, just find your own pace and go at that. If you go too fast the Supra will bite you. Be prepared to become seriously addicted seriously quickly

There's a huge black market for this sort of gear. We had several break-ins when I used to work for a telecoms firm in Basingstoke. The worst turned out to be an inside job and the guy made serious cash before getting caught.

Insurance companies work out your premium based on a risk profile with several factors taken into consideration. You can't compare anyone's premium to your own. Prices have gone up significantly over the whole market this year, it isn't just you feeling the pinch.
