You'll probably learn more in a car that's in stock trim and reliable because not only will you have to spend less time maintaining the car but you'll be able to take it right to the limit pretty much straight away, so you'll have more time learning how to carry speed through corners.

It's not quite easily possible at all though, is it? Otherwise you'd have done it already. You're just guessing, and drag racing depends on a lot of factors coming together to get that magic 1/4-mile figure.

I doubt that very much TBH. I drove my TT at the pod and managed a 13.3 as my best run before I started playing with it.

We run an Auris HSD as part of our long-term fleet and it's hateful and boring to drive, yet not that economical either. It's a car for people who don't like cars. I doubt the OP will find anything with better value than a Skoda. They really are that good.
