  1. I'd absolutely love something like your Zeus, but as you say I think that's something to aim for. I don't want to bankrupt myself in my first year if I can possibly avoid it The more I think about it the more the Jedi makes sense to me.
  2. Undertaking is nowhere near as dangerous or disruptive as sticking in the middle or outside lane.
  3. I'm fully aware that I'll be addicted soon enough but equally I've never had the opportunity to do this before and it's an itch I really do have to scratch. One thing I did want to ensure was that I got the most seat time I possibly could, which means not only a reliable car but also something that has more chance of being used in anger regularly. I'd been looking at Westfields, but do you think I'd have more fun in something with a bit of downforce? Seen that Porsche group C road-legal racer that was doing the rounds last week? This is my drooling sorted for this month: http://bringatrailer.com/2011/04/11/mulsanne-commuter-road-legal-switec-porsche-962c/
  4. Glad you posted, Chris. I'd consider anything that allows me to go bloody quickly and I've been looking closely at the Jedi-type cars. I've been checking out such cars with bigger bike engines in too, and I'm still unsure whether such high-revving units would be as reliable as a more conventional car engine. The other thing I've been keeping an eye on is a Ginetta G20, but unfortunately I've already missed the season opener. I wonder if a dedicated hillclimb car would be the best bet.
  5. Also, religion is the biggest and longest-running conspiracy theory of them all.
  6. So if we don't 'believe' then we're ignorant fools? Nice. Incomprehensively narrow-minded and slightly un-hinged, but nice.
  7. I think you're taking my use of the word 'toy' a bit too far! That would be insanely good fun though.
  8. Too expensive to buy and to run. Wheels are too big for much oversteery fun
  9. I quite like the look of this one: http://pistonheads.com/sales/2691704.htm Anyone have any experience with these?
  10. I've thought about it, but just can't see myself spending 50% more than the equivalent Westfield for what essentially amounts to a badge. an R500 or R400 would tick every box quite nicely, but they command a staggering premium.
  11. My ideal would probably be somewhere between an Atom and a Radical SR3
  12. If that could be done for £8k it would be perfect
  13. Unfortunately I've driven a Smart and can report that it has the chassis dynamics of a lettuce.
  14. I still think the bike-engined route is the right one for me... Evo will kill me to run as a proper track car.
  15. Funny you should mention that! I've been looking at single seaters quite closely, but wonder whether they'd be too dear to keep running for a season?
  16. I need to enlist the help of my favourite group of car enthusiasts. Since selling my single turbo Supra I'm on the look-out for a new toy. I'm in the fortunate position that I don't need to run a road car as I get those from work, so I can look at cars that are slightly more compromised. I'd actually like a full-on race car, but would settle for something road legal as long as there's a race series I can enter. However, there are so many choices out there that I just don't know what to go for. I've spent around six months looking, and still can't come to any conclusion so I thought I'd get some input from you lot. Currently I'm looking at Westfields and that sort of thing as they seem to offer the best combination of speed and running costs. Criteria: Must be stupidly fast - I want to scare the hell out of myself so it has to feel as fast as my Supra at the least. Must have small wheels (I'm thinking about the cost of tyres here) Must be track-ready Budget: £8k I'm open to any suggestions, so, over to you lot
  17. I just logged onto Ebay, searched for the car you're talking about, copied the link and pasted it into this thread. It was easy. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-Toyota-Supra-UK-Spec-Single-Turbo-620-BHP-monster-/320687259907?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aaa734103
