It's very much a starter series for me - I'm intent on following a route with more speed and downforce in the future but don't want to bite off more than I can chew straight away, both in terms of budget and skill level. I've already done some reading about the Z bars now that is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

That's nice, but if I bought it I don't think I'd be able to get as much seat time as I'd like due to the budget required. I went to see a guy about Formula Vee last week and I think taking everything into consideration that's the series for me. It's a good grounding, and allows me to learn proper race-craft and driving skills before adding aero later on. I had no idea how many huge names in racing came from Vee - so that has to say something about it I suppose. I'm still thinking, but it's likely I'll buy the car this week and arrange to go testing.

Also, changed your thread title to something more descriptive so other members can search for and see this thread and get the same help you did/will. Lastly - use the search function on this site before asking questions. The chances of asking something that hasn't been asked before are VERY slim, and we don't like repeating ourselves -

I think the best bet for you would be the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. I had some on my single turbo Supra when I sold her and they were absolutely miles better than any others I tried in the wet. Good in the dry too.

Have a search on here - this has been covered many times before. Prices change very regularly, but Camskill, Blackcircles.com etc are usually the most competitive.
