  1. What about the flat-rate charge for cars over £40k?
  2. Congratulations Dave. No need to get the claws out. What I meant is it seems overkill when you've already got a massive rad in the ideal place, so it's creating a packaging issue that doesn't exist.
  3. Only heard of using an additional rad on mid-engine cars that need ram-air effect (MR2 where you got the idea, per chance?) but interested to see how you package it all up front. Can see benefit among the many potential pit-falls...
  4. The longer you run it, the more the heat will soak through the metal. Not an efficient solution IMO. Fine for drag racing I guess! But yes that's also going to need serious redesigning of the ducting. The question is: why?
  5. You're taping a cooling system to the engine block? Erm... isn't that going to destroy the efficiency of the cooler through heatsoak?
  6. Might be useable, but the Government can't be seen to incentivise cars with such high emissions.
  7. That's the point to the entire thing. Modern cars are too efficient for the old tax laws.
  8. Closed as per OP's request. - - - Updated - - - Closed
  9. The brand does. It's a massive earner for the Top Gear franchise.
  10. I like the diversity in the line-up. Can't see them all on each episode so it might work well. Sabine and Monkey will have some fun in fast cars!
  11. Even after JC departed, the way that programme makes media noise is formidable. You can't fault their PR team!
  12. Welcome. You'll want to pay the £10 membership fee to advertise in the For Sale section or PM members with cars you're interested in. Good luck!
  13. Indeed. You'll need to pay the £10 membership fee

    Thread edited. See above.
  15. I'd be concerned about reliability. Besides, to get more power you'll have to upgrade fuelling. The J-Spec car won't do over 1.2 BAR, and for safety I'd pull that back to 1.1 or even 1 BAR. The UK-Spec will do 1.4 BAR in theory, but again I'd be pulling that back to give some extra headroom.
  16. I had an interesting off-record conversation about this the other day and while you're partly right, I hear the story isn't quite as clear-cut.
  17. Only when the company threatens legal action, which happens a lot because of how thoroughly the site is indexed by Google.
  18. There are two sides to every story... and the Daily Mail knows this all too well. Just putting that out there.
  19. NEVER take a renewal quote without ringing around. They're pretty much always higher than they should be.
  20. Mega Yes, my examples were at the extreme ends, but there are plenty of reasons why leasing makes sense for folk. It's not always the false economy you seem to think.
  21. No bias here mate. I just call it as I see it. That's my job.
