  1. It was up for £15,500. Not sure what it sold for though.
  2. If it has SRD's seal of approval that's the only time I'd consider buying modified.
  3. Have to disagree with that. You'll spend the whole time you have the car trying to unpick someone else's mods and figure out why it's not right. Buy standard and carry out carefully considered mods yourself.
  4. Do a lot of reading up on here using the search function and take a look at all the buying guides. Regarding suspension, you can spend as much as you've got but talking to someone who REALLY understands it will work best. Chris Wilson on here, for example. Steer clear of 'tuning' firms (most will just bolt bits on) and look at racing engineers who get the basics of car chassis design. A decent diff is crucial too.
  5. Don't think you'd want that sort of feedback! An old BMW would be better. Waterproof FTW.
  6. Unless you like going around corners Caterfields are just a compromise IMHO. They're not the best on track and lethal/crap on the road.
  7. It's not really a driver's car. More of a wafty GT. The front end feels pretty disconnected and the engine is a bit mental. I wouldn't want one with stiff suspension either - the XKR-S was rubbish for exactly that reason.
  8. Standard mk1 MX-5. It's great fun, reliable and will teach you proper driving without having to worry about how to get it home afterwards. You can even fit a picnic in the boot.
  9. This should be an interesting thread.
  10. Fair. It's just that he did say "in the Bournemouth area".
  11. Bit of a trek! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Bournemouth,+UK/Crawley,+West+Sussex,+UK/@51.090428,-1.5442663,9z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x487398a0b1a067fd:0x3b2ee0156ba92c94!2m2!1d-1.880769!2d50.719164!1m5!1m1!1s0x4875ed930f13ff35:0x12f9939e52364adb!2m2!1d-0.1872275!2d51.1091401
  12. Moved to Supra Chat as you'll get more interest in here. Welcome The answers to your questions have been covered countless times - the easiest way is to get familiar with the search function at the top of the page.
  13. I prefer the Boxster to the Cayman.
  14. Cayman is miles better. Both good cars, but the Porsche is far more exciting. More expensive to run too though.
  15. It doesn't matter what they're made from, just that they're different to stock inside but not out.
  16. Welcome. It's a turbo that is the same size as a standard one, but has been modified for better airflow characteristics so in theory should make more power, or higher boost sooner in the rev range. The trade-off is they're rarely anywhere near as reliable as standard ones.
  17. Still too cheap for the performance IMO. Should always have been a £100k car. That's another thing that puts me off
  18. Have you paid the £10 membership fee yet? That's a good start! We're looking into the other aspects.
  19. Why push anything? Over-engineer the thing and then spend many thousands of miles enjoying it
  20. The new one is a spectacular car. Full five stars.
  21. XC90 isn't great off-road anyway. Had the comfiest seats on earth though. Land Cruiser a great shout for reliability.
