  1. Hiya It looked grey last night! Traffic was fairly bad again but at least now with the summer holidays my morning trip to work is much quieter!
  2. I've had a similar problem for the last week or so intermittently but im fairly sure its not the battery. I just get one tick (sometimes not even that) and then if I try and start it again it usually works second time, no problem. On thursday it did take 3 or 4 attemps (turn on, nothing, turn off, repeat) until it started. Could this be a dodgy starter motor?
  3. Whoops sorry, must have been the green from the trees reflecting off. The traffic has been pretty bad lately. It will hopefully quiet down soon with the summer holidays coming up. Always seems to make it easier in the morning when it's school holidays. Andy
  4. I noticed the spoiler realising it was a supra just before you waved. My window was only open a little so I couldnt wave back very well! Hope you werent in the traffic too long!
  5. I was in the white veilside. I let you pass and tried to follow but lost you after your Fast and Furious manouver! I think the reg ended KFC.
  6. You gave me a flash but I was too slow to respond!

    This sucks

    Which insurance company?
  13. Solved the problem. The screws on the bottom of the BOV had worked themselves a bit loose so air was escaping. Took it off, tightened them up and checked the seal on the connecting pipes and it all seems fine again now
  14. Vil, this noise occurs at any time there is boost and just gets louder if you give it more gas. It does sound like air leaking from somewhere. Just need to find a decent local garage to have a look at it because im guessing Mr T will be pretty expensive to just diagnose the problem!
  15. I just went out in it again and had a listen. It does sound like a whistle as air is escaping. There is some oil around the BOV which could be new (I've havent looked at it very closely before now) so I think there may be a leak there. Is it going to do any damage if I drive it like it is? (I wont boot it!) Im going to need to drive it to a garage... Can anyone recommend one in the Bournemouth or Southampton area?
  16. Just a thought, is the boost level on my Blitz turbo timer going to very acurate? Excuse my stupidity but I dont know how they work!
  17. It used to whistle a lot too and it sounded nice and cool. This just suddenly got louder in the course of a journey and sounds awful! Almost like someone blowing a whistle on the outside! After a quick trip last night I have a feeling the 2nd turbo isnt kicking in either.. Does that mean one of the valves (IACV) is stuck?
  18. It happens with any boost at all. Even going at 30mph, makes a loud whistle, almost as if it was coming from the BOV
  19. Tonight driving back home when I noticed that the whistle the turbo normally makes was a LOT louder than normal. I took it easy for a bit and as soon as there is any boost is makes a loud whistling noise which sounds like it could be coming from the BOV. I think it seemed to be performing ok (ive only had it 3 weeks so still getting used to it) and I only have the standard facelift boost gauge so cant give exact boost figures. Any thoughts? Could it be because it was so cold (outside) that the air was just making a louder noise? It didnt sounds like the 'death whine' but it was *very* loud and it is possible that the 2nd turbo wasnt kicking in - it was a bit too busy to boot it and I was quite worried about doing any damage. The noise happened even at slow speeds as soon as there was any boost. Its a 96 j-spec auto.
