  1. It's not really specific enough to take a guess. Perhaps if your buyer didn't have any payslips or whatever they may need to verify his job role etc but it could be to do with actual hours and overtime. They'd have to have a survey before they received a formal offer of mortgage too so even after this prelimary stuff they'd have to wait for the results of the survey which could take more than a couple of weeks. Does your estate agent have any further info?
  2. As a previous conveyancer this was a fairly common occurence - with references (if that's what it really is) and stuff it all takes time to filter from the employer to the bank or mortgage broker, then the correct department. Just keep chasing if you can and try to relax about it. When you say your sellers are buying a new build - is it actually built yet/near completion? Just wondering because having worked for developers they are mostly always the stumbling block in chains.
  3. Yeah man, power to the people!
  4. As far as I can make out from the first post no-one has been attacked by a bottle.
  5. Oh I do find that annoying actually - especially if you're replying to an email or something and do a few returns - it's really hard to see what you've written!
  6. Thanks for looking anyway! It's like it has a weird mind of it's own sometimes. Apart from that I really do like it. Have you tried any of the photo apps yet? I have vignette which I love the effect of.
  7. Well, I loved my 1.7 puma. It was slightly modified with a racing puma inlet manifold and some other bits but it had some good poke.
  8. I personally find the battery fine but I don't do lots of downloads or owt - but have loads of automatic updates etc. I find the predictive text a bit troublesome. Am I being retarded or is there a way of changing this? For example I wrote 'waffle' earlier on today and now it wants to add waffle after every word I type! Aside from that I love it. So glad I got it.
  9. I'm really upset to hear your news Col. I know you were receiving the treatment for GERD but to be honest it sounded like it wasn't helping much. Do you think you'll come back to the UK for treatment at all? I'm wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery.
  10. It's 2nd hand. And I'm sure she'll get a wrap rather than a paint job. And, who cares.
  11. There's a few nice bars - Rock Bar, Norman etc down Call Lane. There are tons of nice restaurants, steak house, italian etc depending on what you like. There's also the Howard Marks Tapas bar - Azucar which is in Brewery Wharf - that's great for a drink or food. I personally don't think much of the Sky Bar (it's in Mint Hotel which used to be City Inn) - it was just full of wannabe WAGS. If you're at TOTB I guess you won't be in Leeds to see any of the daylight hours - however there's a new Damien Hirst exhibition in the Leeds Gallery if you're into that kind of thing.
  12. Yeah, I didn't really think that one through.
  13. Are you constantly thirsty and needing the toilet all the time? (not just now but recently)? Obesity is the number 1 cause for type 2 diabetes. Here's a fact sheet. http://www.bupa.co.uk/health-information/directory/t/type-2-diabetes
  14. I have no idea what the fascination of Krispy Kremes is. When they opened the new 'drive in' in Leeds their PR sent me two boxes to sample. They were really overly synthetic tasting and just yuk. I couldn't believe it when I heard people were camping there over night to get a year's free doughnuts! When I went to the retail park at the weekend there was a huge queue for the drive thru and people were queuing out of the door. Idiots, the lot of them. Give me a traditional doughnut any day of the week!
  15. I suspect you can stop worrying about that. If you're a healthy weight, rarely drink etc etc then it's very unlikely you've got type 2 diabetes.
  16. Err how old are you?! Come back when you're a little older. Eggs - they help clear the toxins out of your liver. Honey - a great way to raise your blood sugar level. Bananas - Magnesium and potassium in abundance (your body loses these when you drink). If you're still suffering and it's 4 days on, you might have a bug. If might be best to try some healthy food rather than shovelling a load of crap down you - crap is good for perhaps the day after. Berocca is also really good for replacing the vit C.
  17. I don't know. I've never created a page before but presume it's in the permissions bit of it somewhere?
  18. A page is better for a public type thing. Might be nicer if you could see who 'likes' the page so that members could 'meet'.
  19. Are you on there? I didn't realise! Add me man.
