  1. im going to pull this apart sunday and see what i can find, by the sounds of it what ever is clattering about inside will be obvious once the cases are split. ill post up some pics and my findings
  2. ok mate thanks ill keep you in mind
  3. to be honest ive not had the box out of it yet ill be doing that this weekend all i know it used to be an auto, it was converted in japan and the previous owner to me said its always sounded like it. Its just a guess as it could be something overlooked when doing this conversion. When driving it tonight, changing gear it will rattle/clunk but whilst in gear its fine no clunking fairly quiet apart from a little wining. If I hold the clutch down and hit a bump (fairly large bump ) it will make the same clunk noise as if somethings loose/shagged
  4. Thanks for all your help, ill have a read through the links and get a bit more knowlege on it all
  5. I have a bad clunking and wine from my gearbox, the gears them self do not grind but when you change gear its very notchy and clunky a bit like a dog box. The car used to be an auto but got converted in japan to a 6 speed manual, I have removed all the consol to get a better look around the top of the lincage and noticed a poor attempt of making the gear leaver access hole wider, it was rubbing on the box, but since then I have removed the metal to give it more space to move. I have a feeling they may have left the spigot bearing out when doing the conversion, Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before? I have been to a specialist today did not look to happy with what he was hearing just wondering if any one has had one built? also a rough cost to expect? how easy are parts to get? Ill be removing the box this weekend and see if it can shed any light, if not ill have to weigh up my options on weather to have it rebuilt or buy a secondhand one
  6. Looking at having mine rebuilt or if some one has one collecting dust, let me know a price
  7. is it me or does he look like tupac:D
  8. ill be staying in thinking of all the money ive saved
  9. it was fairly quick but the box was standard and 80mph was pushing it for max speed lol what box are you going to run?
  10. yer was a big job mate wont be going that far into restoration projects again I sold it about 4 years ago No idea what happened to it, crunch line for me was spending 2.5k on a rebuilt engine then gettin gmy arse kicked my a sprinter van sold it for 5k an bought a 300zx twin turbo to cheer my self up
  11. now on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RECARO-RACE-SEAT-SUPRA-SKYLINE-RX7-EVO-COSWORTH_W0QQitemZ120219661745QQihZ002QQcategoryZ66695QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  12. Looks great Neil well done. Now get your name down for RAF Marham track day to see what it can really do
  13. I wanted to make something different for it and it was a faze round here for having big oval exhausts There was no end to welding mate found gas welding it was the easyest in the end as the metal was so thin the mig would just blow no end of holes, fully stripped the shell and floor pan, rewelded a new nose on the floor pan where the front cross member bolts on, loads of patches on the floor pan, the body had new nose on the front, i made new skins for the bottoms of the doors new rear quarter pannels welded in & heater channels, removed all the handles and fitted solenoids, fitted a ford probe interior. Ended up getting a full apprentiship in welding and fabrication and working in this game for 8 years because of this car
  14. One firemen said he would love to turn the cannons on them but cant for legal reasons the countrys gone soft
  15. Great project mate only just seen this, I started off with a beetle spent 2 years building mine from scratch was a 1972 1641cc with dual 40 webbers great fun to build and the vw crowd are mad. Few pics of my old one good luck with it mate ill keep an eye on this thread now
  16. Thats the drawing I just noticed in the manual thanks to be honest im just plumbing it all up at the mo wont be running it yet as far as I know it has only been mapped to wastegate pressure. Once all the bits are on and ready to go ill send it off for mapping.
  17. The only way I can see this from the drawing above and whats in the avcr manual is to link the pipe coming from the wastegate thats going to atmosphire into the boost controller solenoid then from there T it back into the turbo housing with the other. would this make sence???????????
  18. Found the problem in the end after a few more searches on here, turned out to be the oring on the delivery tube baked that was making it drag air in.
  19. Having the same problems as this with mine, did you find a solutioin in the end? i have put new oil in and tryed bleeding it for ages but like above its seems to be dragging air in from somewhere
  20. try halfords mate they will do a gold plated one for car stereos, will give you a few moew ports to add other stuff too
  21. is this a black face dial when off with white lettering?
