Spent today removing the gearbox and other parts, what a treat that is to get out my hands are now smashed to bits
Once the gearbox was out there is dents on the underside of the body work (transmission tunnel) and polished marks on the gear lever lincage where its been hitting the floor, this will explain the vibrating coming through the car possably transmission noises aswell
Now that the gearbox is out I can make a neater job of the hole, just wondering why its hitting the floor its as if the mount could poss be the wrong one and raising it up just a bit far (poss an auto mount?) im sure the hole on my old supra was no bigger than whats there now.
the clutch pressure plate is buckled I have put a straight edge against the face and this shows.
When I come to remove the flywheel I notice it had a lot of movement, you can hold the ring gear and turn the disk that the clutch bolts to around 40mm clockwise and anticlockwise where it comes to a stop.
I have checked the spigot bearing and its in there and feels ok.
theres no real play in the 1st motion shaft and it feels ok, my dad seems to think the above problems is probably the cause, but im fairly certain there is a problem in the box, either something loose or to much end float on something.
im fitting a twin plate clutch when it all goes back, just 50/50 on having the box stripped for piece of mind as I cant be arsed to pull it all apart again
