  1. cheers mate ill have a read up been looking into a cosworth engine install too how reliable would one of these be at 500 mark?
  2. Looking at selling my supra next year to put a deposit down on a house, but I cant see myself not having a toy. Been looking into BMWs as they seem to be going cheap and a popular track car I desided to go for the e36 as the e30s are going for silly money at the mo. Ended up winning this one on ebay for a whopping £122 Its a 318is the only thing im dissapointed with is its got a sun roof, Ive started stripping the interior out of it the engine and box is comming out of it tomorrow. The plan for this is to make a race prepped car for the track and drifting im looking at doing the following to it over the next few months Install an rb25 skyline engine and box or poss a 1JZ looking for around 500reliable bhp Remove the glass and make a lexan set Install a fully tig welded CDS rollcage install a set of FIA approved seats with 4 point harnesses m3 evo disks with a brembo 4 pot caliper conversion on the front poss the rear too coil over suspension Nice set of 18" alloys, might get a set from a 5 series and roll the arches to suit M3 lsd I want to make and do as much of this my self (works going to love me) any tips on this project would be great im only going by threads off google

    Supra Rebuild

I cant see it being a loss theres over a grand in bits there if he changes his mind, good luck with the project mate
  8. Just to add these are light scratches on ally plate so autosol will most likely remove them with a bit of elbow grease
  9. Its strange being out there as there is no real rules, no one ever said you cant do that ect there is little barriors or guards ecept the temples, health an safetys out the window too this was a little close to the mark though
  10. Went here in march It was a mad place the disclaimer you had to sign was worrying though
  11. still looking for what I paid for it, other wise ill polish it up but will be wanting more for my time
  12. this is the same set as the halfords professional both the same price only reason I went for this was the latches on the box were made from steel instead of plastic
  13. I bought one of these sets last week it has everything you would need, for £99 its great value and you get a £10 voucher. Thought I had a great deal untill I drove over a massive kurb/island in the carpark and split my bumper
  14. Im after the oem 6 speed diff unit as I have a spare 6 speed diff with a broken lsd, im finding the tomei unit to aggressive for every day use and want to go back to stock for the winter before it catches me out
  15. This is what I was looking to achieve, I have been looking into this today to get the most from the reclined seat the upper seat belt point will have to be moved out im thinking of bolting the main hoop to this seat belt point using the seat belt bolt and a nice bracket, killing two birds with one stone Im going to have problems with my seats and a cage fitted as it has wide shoulder bulges, if you look between the gap of the door post and the edge of the seat that will give you an idea how wide a tube you can use. Hope that made sence
  16. Would this apeal its a more subtle looking cage mounting points will be around the rear suspension? Hybrid cage is a great Idea its no problems for me but would be best for if we can agree on one design for it IE bolt in struts in the same places ect, that way I can make a batch up quicker and keep the costs down.
  17. Not at the moment mate as I dont know how much work is involved and what material will be used as soon as one or two is agreed i'll price it up and start a group buy thread
  18. The other style cages are not problems I just wanted to offer a design that allowed the rear seats to be kept. To be honest this is why I done this thread to get feedback from everyone. I can see Homers point I was looking into running two struts down onto the rear suspension area to give it more support, its even possible to fabricate a reat strut bar into it. I have a few pics I have been collecting over the past few weeks some are from members cars hope they dont mind, theres a range of mounting points im considering like a pick up point from the upper front seat belts onto the main hoop this will give the cage more support. take a look and give me some feedback
  19. These will be bolt in units, you will be able to keep the rear seats after fitting the test cage in I could sit in the rear seats with no problems but I would advise padding them for safety (ill post more pics with a person seated in the rear) As for the safety side of the cage ill be making it from CDS or T45 with the correct wall thickness tube. The main hoop is a copy of the Cusco cage which will be a tried and tested design, the two struts that come off the main hoop going into the boot will follow the angle of the rear boot area. Ideally the rear struts will need a load plate tig welded into each side of the rear chassie legs then the cage bolted to them, but im going to look into other options. I can look into getting these tested if needed
  20. The main strut that goes behind the seats is a copy of the Cusco cage, im going to contour it better to follow the lines of the supra body to give a bit more space but not enough to loose its strenght. The Do-luckcage is made from an oval tube allowing more space between the body and the seats but it does not have the strength that this cage will. I have after market OMP race seats in mine with wide shoulder posts fitted it does make it hard to fully recline the seat but gives you enough room to drive for the larger person, you will have this problem no matter what the cage as theres little room between the seat an the cars body, I think this is why Do-luck has chosen the oval tube to allow for this, but like I say this to me looks purely show purpose.
