  1. I would make some up in cardboard then stick them on untill you get a size and shape your happy with then mark around the template, measure from the door and wing gap to the edge of the template top and bottom to make sure both straight edges are parallel to each other then measure down from the top of the wing to the staight edge to get both sides the same hight
  2. this was all happening when i owned my Z, having owned both I have never looked back on selling my 300zx after owning the supra. Mac1s 300zx was at the time one of the quickest in the country no expence spared on the bits but not sure what the final bhp level was around 550 I think
  3. cant find a better pic mate but this is what I was talking about if you look closely you can see the collapsible part one end from memory has a splined shaft with a knuckle on the end, might be worth looking into as these can be picked up off ebay for a few pounds
  4. Dont think he is a member yet but im sure he will join up, the full amounts not in my hands yet so im not counting my chickens Thanks again for the mapping work today Ryan top work:thumbs:
  5. Had a bloke come veiw the car yesterday and put a deposit on the car on the plus side it will be staying in the uk and hopefully stay on here. Just had RyanG down to finnish mapping the car to 1.4bar she flys now On the hunt for a e46 bmw now oh and a house
  6. thats were i see one too, some money walking down there gave me the right hump
  7. i HAVE THE MOUNTS WITH RECARO STAMPED ON THEM BUT NOT THE SEAT RUNNER
  8. Ill be interested in a pair of 235/40/18 part worns when you get some in mate
  9. They are pollyurathane engine mounts they come with the full kit I bought might be worth emailing them to see what they can supply [email protected] these come with a 10mm studding each side, not sure how much abuse they will take though.
  10. its parrallel mate even if i changed the orientation of the flange to get it to clear the exhaust would foul the head
  11. yes it does tryed that made its miles out though
  12. I bought one off ebay for my project but the t67 turbo i bought wont fit the manifold as it fouls on the cam box cover it needs another 50mm on each tube if that makes sence. the 2js manifolds are cheaper and easyer to get hold of just wondering if it will fit as ive got loads of room to play with
  13. Bit more progress with this now managed to finnish the cage of, put the door braces in with a slight set in them to give more width in the car then gusset plates welded in. I have also attached the cage to the front suspension turrets and fabricated a few plates up to attach the cage to the body for more strength. I then got hold of an M3 Evo rear axel and LSD diff, I stripped that down repainted it all fitted it with polly urathene bushes, made up a pait of adjusterble rear camber arms The E36 had trouble with the rear subframe bolts pulling out the floor when driven hard, I rear that the M3's have stiffening plates welded in to stop this so I made some up and welded them into the floor pan I managed to find an R154 gearbox with a 1jz bellhousing a cheap 1jz engine and a prop so I was ready to start fitting it. after a bit of jigging and a lot of checking measuring manged to get the engine and box to sit where I wanted it to, its supprising how good a fit it is the gear lever hole lines up perfect. I messed up abit though as you can see from one of the pics above theres a lump of box section sitting on the wings i used this to guage where the bonnet would sit, I had to cut some of the bulk head to sit the engine back to give me the clearance as the steering rack was fouling the sump, after doing all this and making all the mounts i looked at the bonnet as see it has a raised section in the middle so I had no need to cut the bulk head out and sit it back but i guess it helps with spreading the weight I then got hold of an M3 evo prop and had a result when I chopped the two props as the m3 prop was a perfect size to press into the supra one, I cut it 100mm long, pressed it in then welded it up, made a mount for the center bearing then fitted the lot. Im supprised how easy its been really enjoing it too.
  14. are the 1jz and 2jz single turbo exhaust manifold the same?
  15. Thanks for all your comments I have updated with a bit more spec and the milage
  16. The time has come to sell my supra to get myself on the property ladder I have owned this just over a year and spend a load of hours getting it to what it is today. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=146442&highlight=gt60 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=2230 Engine Specifications: Powerhouse racing stage 1 turbo kit: GT60 Polished Turbo HKS tubular header HKS GT Wastegate 4" K&N Filter with my own custom air scoop Upgraded 3 1/2 downpipe Heat wrapped down pipe chrome turbo blanket Stainless oil feed hoses silicone hoses Power enterprise timing belt Unorthodox racing pullys my own custom made, fuse box covers, power steering cap, brake resovoir cap, fmic slam pannel, ignition pack cover, Expansion bottle. I have just got it back from Dave (Supraloopy) he has resprayed the front and touched a few other body work parts up. All four tyres have done less than 400 miles, the whole single turbo kit has done less than 3000 miles its only been mapped to 1.1 bar due to it needing a larger map sensor, the final mapping can be arranged. This car is used every day it never lets me down, smokes or misses a beat one of few singles on the forum that can say this. The milage is 72k it has regular oil changes using Millers oil and TRD oil filters. £14,500
  17. Might be due to the films she makes
  18. Is that a wise move spraying the clutch with lubricant? there must be another cause/solution for this creaking I personally would not spray in the housing with any lubricants
  19. Stay away from Yokos mate they wont last you five mins, I had a set on mine not that model but I did'nt rate them
  20. im hoping Dave falls in love with it and buys it off me
  21. my neighbours get some peace an quiet for a few days now lol
  22. I always wanted to build my own Kitcar, but after speaking to a few people the SVA test was putting me off. I had a look on ebay for a few months and come across this already SVA tested but needing a load of work. I spend a year and a half to finnish it but most of it made easy due to it being at my work and having all the tools I needed to hand. I would say have a go if you can get a kit cheap enough, that if you get bored and want to sell on you wont loose out at least you had a go. The bits that took the time were the little brackets, trim parts ect that need to be taken into consideration. You will need a fair amount of tools to complete one. There also loads of forums and books to help you along. good luck with it
